Like Fwoopers, Phoenixes are beautiful African birds. They are one of the magical creatures that Muggles know about, but they see them as myths, not real things that exist. The Phoenix is a flame-coloured bird about the size of a swan. They are extremely difficult to tame but are in this book because a few wizards have managed to keep them as pets. When a Phoenix dies, it will burst into flame and then rise up from the ashes as a chick. They are vegetarians as they refuse to kill animals. These birds are rated XXXX because of their taming difficulty, not because they are aggressive.
