Muggle Mischief

Chapter 3

In time, non-magic people, more commonly known as muggles, started to realise there was something suspicious going on. It took them a while to figure out what it was, but when they figured out that it was magic, they were scared. They didn't think of magic useful or good, they just thought of it as scary and evil.

The muggles set out to capture the wizard or witch. Once they caught them, their method of killing or torturing was burning. However, this wasn't a good strategy, as the witch or wizard attempting to be tortured would perform the simple but helpful flame-freezing charm. The magical being would then pretend to shriek, however enjoying a ticking sensation from the effect of the spell.

Some people enjoyed the burning, so allowed themselves to be caught. The most famous wizard in this time was Wendelin the Weird, who got himself caught more than fifty times because of how much he enjoyed it.

So from then on, the non-magic people thought they had really tortured the wizard or witch, and wrote fairy tales and stories how bad the witches were and that they were evil. Then wrote stories saying you can never trust a wizard. The stories contain information that two percent of it is correct, though with muggle borns, (check chapter 5,) non-magic people are starting to understand what witches and wizards are really like.
