Chapter 7

Sunlight:



  • imortant to know how much sunlight is needed

  • leaves imortant for flower/plants general wellbeing

  • ties with photosynthisis

  • darkness is more appropriate for devils snare and gunpowder gloriousas


moonlight:



  • if a plants is labelled thrusty then it needs reflected light

  • these plants are usually nocturnal

  • usually linked to the lunar cycle


Shade:



  • two groups deep shade and light shade

  • deep shade plants grow on the forest floor

  • light shade plants need to grow away from sunrise/sunset


Partial sun and partial shade:



  • these catagories are used interchangeably but have slight differences

  • these plants need 3-6 hours of sunlight per day


Full sun:



  • a plant that needs full sunlight needs at least 6 hours of sunlight

  • it does not need all of the hours all at the same time


Colouration:



  • the colouration was decided at the 1384 meeting of the herbology high commision

  • common foliage colours include, vivid green, bluish green, golden colour, greish silver, purple or a dark red hue


Type:



  • recognized at the 1617 meeting of the herbology high commision

  • 12 catagories, annual, biennial, perenial, bulb, evergreen, fern, herb, moss, shrub, tree, water plant & vine


Height:



  • usally the upper limit is listed


Special features:



  • there are 12 kinds of special features, spring flower, summer flower, fall flower, winter flower, reflowering, constant, low maintinance, attraction, fragrant, soulution, draught tolerant & cold hardy
