Year 1, Lesson 8. Fundamentals of Flora: Groundwork
Today's lesson is about categorizing plants and proper labelling. There are several important variables for plants:

Sunlight:
Sunlight is very important for plants, it is necessary for a process called photosyntehesis. Photosynthesis is a proces where sunlight and  carbon dioxide (the stuff we breathe out) is converted into oxygen (the stuff we breathe) and energy. Plants can have different needs for sunlight: shade, partial shade, partial sun and full sunlight. Then there are also plants that need moonlight or complete darkness (like the Devils snare).

Colouration:

A plants flowers can be purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white and black. There are more colours, but theses are the most common colours.
the foliage (the leaves) are usually some type of green, grey, white, red or purple.

Types: 

-Annual: plants with a lifespan of a year
-Biennal: Plant with a lifespan of 2 years
-Perennial: Plant with a lifespan that is relatively long (like trees)
-Bulb: plant that stores resources in bulb (like a tulip)
-Evergreen: plant that always has green foliage (leaves)
-Fern: Plant with light leaves that leave spores
-Herb: plant with parts that are used for medicine, flavouring, scent or potion ingredient.
-Moss: soft squishy plant that likes wet places
- Shrub a tiny tree like plant, kionda woody (like a rosebush)
-Tree: Woody plant with one trunk, grow high
-Water plant: plant that grows in water
-Vine: long and thin plant, that creeps on walls
