Juliet and Erin - Magically Muggle

written by Salem Windweaver

Juliet is a perfectly normal muggle girl, thank you very much. She likes books, painting, and scented candles. Her family, however, is half muggle and half wizard. As she gets dragged to a wacky family reunion, she meets Erin, a young witch who desperately wants to fit in. Their radically different personalities come together as they traverse the realm of magic and discover who they are inside. !NOTE! Chapter 1

Someone once said to me that I should be more like my sister, Lora. I will never be like her. Yeah, I can learn to shut up about books. Sure, I'll go shopping sometime. But I won't learn to be like her, no matter how hard I try. I'll never learn how to be a witch.
Lora is amazing. She has magical abilities, a magical school, and magical friends that come over in the summer. So did Dad, when he was younger. He gave her the magical abilities that I didn't have. She even looks like him, whereas I'm a carbon copy of my mother. Auburn hair, skin with pink undertones, the whole bonanza. She got lucky with dad's stunning black hair and piercing blue eyes. I would sell my soul to be like her.
My friends are all boring like me. Dad and Lora call us 'muggles'. As far as I've seen, our lives have no similarities. My school is crowded and noisy and full of stupid, normal muggles. I never thought I would meet any wizards other than them, but I was mistaken.        I guess I forgot that the rest of my family existed because it turns out Dad has siblings and parents and nieces and nephews. How did I find that out? Through a letter that came carried by an owl. Yeah, an owl. It soared in through my window one day while I was writing and just hopped down the stairs and onto Dad's lap.

"Hey, honey? Can you come in here?"

As if by magic, Mom walked in. Dad showed her the letter and she gasped.

    "Here? All of them?"

Dad nodded grimly. Then, he called the rest of us in. He explained that his mother wanted to have a family reunion at our house because 'we had been so out of touch. They had also decided when they would be arriving, which was a week from then. Apparently, they would be bringing some friends as well. A group of wizards would be living in our backyard for almost a month.
Little did I know, but one of them would change my life forever.
