Hogwarts GSA
Chapter 4
And now it's time for Hogwarts GSA! If you don't have notifications on for the LGBTQIA+ HIH Community, don't worry: Hogwarts GSA has you covered. So let's get a rundown of this week's activity in the LGBTQIA+ HIH Community.
There have been 28 posts on the club since last Sunday (excluding comments), a ton of which were from Friday (April 22). Now I don't know for sure why this is, but it might have something to do with the Day of Silence. For those of you who don't know, the Day of Silence is an event started by GLSEN (pronounced glisten; stands for Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network) in which students who are allies or members of the LGBTQ+ community don't speak for an entire day to highlight the way that many LGBTQ+ people are forced to be silent about their identities. At the end of the day, participants "break the silence" by speaking for the first time, to symbolize hope that one day we won't have to be silent about our identities anymore. If you'd like to learn more about the Day of Silence, go here: https://www.glsen.org/day-of-silence. This year, the Day of silence was on Friday, April 22, so I'm wondering if the abundance of posts on the LGBTQIA+ HIH Community had anything to do with that. But again, that's just me theorizing; I have no real proof of this.
Each week for Hogwarts GSA, I'll highlight a post from that week that I think is important to share. This week I'd like to highlight a post by Elsa Helmuth from Friday: "Hi guys it’s been a while since I’ve been on here but in case you guys didn’t know, I had my twins and I’m an official teen mom! I love my girls and they are getting so big and they are starting to walk!" She posted right after that with links to pictures of her girls. Here's Magnolia Grace: https://photos.app.goo.gl/47e4meDkRCEVur7c6 and Rylann Sophia: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2iKBgkxyscxd8GFV6. Head over to Elsa's post and send her and her kids some love!
Well, that's all for Hogwarts GSA! Make sure to go over to the actual LGBTQIA+ HIH Community club and see what all the other wonderful people there are posting!
