Witchcraft 7: Death in the Halls
Chapter 2
On the day of the Slytherin freshman tryout, Rodrick showed up on the field with great enthusiasm and his friends cheered him on from the stands, Prefect Lucius was also Captain of the Green-Silver House, among the public there were also students from other Houses and the visitors of Castelobruxo were no exception, Marcela da Silva stole the eyes of many both on and off the field with her dark skin and curly brown hair, in addition to very pronounced curves for her young age of 15 yearsbut what most caught Rodrick's attention was noticing that Felipe Urfano and Camilo García argued strongly like those who hate each other to death. The practice match went smoothly, and Rodrick managed to pull a couple of opponents off his broomstick during it, but despite his decent performance Lucius Malfoy left him out of the player selection. During the Gryffindor trials, James and Sirius would have a good game where Potter would show off scoring several points and both would be selected as chasers for the Gryffindor team, Remus and Peter would not have such luck.
Gaunt: It's okay Rodrick, you'll try again next year with better preparation.
Snape: Besides, Lucius won't be there, I'm sure he left you out because he doesn't like you.
Henrich: Thanks for cheering me on, changing the subject, did you guys notice what happened in the stands too?
Gaunt: That everyone was drooling like idiots around that girl from South America?
Henrich: No, the other thing, Urfano and García fighting.
Snape: Certainly, the rumors say that their enmity comes from before arriving at Hogwarts, their countries of origin have been in constant border disputes and the rancor of their grandparents that passed through their parents now faces them. What was Mrs. Dourado thinking by sending them both on the exchange!?
Gaunt: I'm sure there are more students with the same problem in Castelobruxo and that Dumbledore can control the situation, it's just two students, what could go wrong?
But at that moment, going around the corridors, the three young Slytherin found the inert body of Camilo García, Celestia immediately screamed and Severus froze, Rodrick already had near-death experiences so it didn't shock him that much and instead he began to observe the scene carefully, at the scene there were footprints of a fantastic creature that was not common in Europe and following the trail led Henrich to the forest where, apparently, the creature climbed a tree and entered hanging from branch to branch, which resembles the ability of a monkey, later Professor Silvanus Kettleburn of Care of Magical Creatures confirmed that it was a clabbert, but what is a clabbert doing at Hogwarts? It is an original creature from South America so it would be necessary to question the other boys of Castelobruxo to see what they know. During the interrogations, Miss Da Silva assured “It must have been Felipe, they have been fighting for a long time and his family has some clabbert in the house, he may have brought some with him, he must also know how to control him because he has said that when he graduates from Castelobruxo will be Magizoologist"; for his part Felipe excluded “It is true that we have argued many times and we even make heavy jokes from time to time but I would never murder him, I do not know who could have done it, the clabbert are not really dangerous, some live near my house in the trees and they have never given us problems, my desire to become a Magizoologist is to help misunderstood creatures who suffer discrimination because of their ugly appearance”. Then the teachers searched for and found the clabbert in the forest, who sought refuge in the arms of Felipe Urfano who, disconcerted, could not say a word to defend himself, everyone assumed that the young Peruvian was the culprit, but something did not convince Rodrick.
That night while Rodrick Henrich was studying clabbert in the library, Celestia Gaunt and Severus Snape were in the Slytherin common room when Lucius Malfoy approached them.
Malfoy: Do you guys have a moment?
Gaunt: Get lost, Lucius.
Malfoy: Are you upset that your boyfriend didn't pass to join the Quidditch team?
Snape: Your mere presence is unwelcome, no matter the circumstances.
Malfoy: Oh! But that can change, there is a club that I want to invite you to, where you will learn very powerful and quite useful magic that they don't teach here at Hogwarts.
Gaunt: Are you talking about…?
Snape: And why do you invite us? You are not our friend.
Malfoy: Yes, our teacher is more interested in talent than origin, it is true that we are not friends, but we can become friends. Severus, imagine a magic so powerful that it allows you to keep your father in check, so he won't be violent with you or your mother again.
Gaunt: Will you invite Rodrick too? He is very talented.
Malfoy: I can't, I've been forbidden to invite him.
Gaunt: Then don't count me out either (goes to girls' dorms)
Snape: Why can't you invite him?
Malfoy: If I tell you, you must keep the secret, do you promise?
Snape: Yes, but that doesn't mean I've agreed to join your club, I'm just curious.
Malfoy: Mr. Henry Henrich agreed to work with my father on the condition that his son knows nothing about it, which is why my father forbade me to invite him to the dark magic club.
Snape: Why would Mr. Henrich ask that Rodrick be left out?
Malfoy: Said in the words of his own father, Rodrick is too emotional and he himself will be the one to teach him dark magic when the time comes, when the boy matures enough.
Snape: How do I know you're telling the truth?
Malfoy: Come one day and you will confirm it for yourself.
Snape: I'll think about it.
