Chapter 3
Walking to her table after being sorted was the worst night so far. No one clapped. No one cheered. A couple Slytherins smiled to be polite, but soon hid in fear. She walked to the back, quickly and quietly, avoiding Roses' eyes. She sat down a couple feet away from everyone, burrying her head in her arms, as the Headmaster stood up again.
"Well! Welcome all! Now, I dare say, let the feast begin!" She shouted, as food magically apeared. Sofia kept her head down for a while until she heard footsteps come up to her, and someone sit down. She took a peak, and saw that same blonde-haired boy who was called first. He had that bored look, but his bright blue eyes said he was anything but bored. He stuck out his hand, and Sofia glanced at it, not knowing what to do.
"Scoripius. Scorpius Malfoy." He half smiled, and Sofia felt an odd, and new, warm feeling in the bottom of her stomach. She gingerly took his hand and shook it once.
"Sofia." She half whisperd
"Sofia What?" His smirk grew a little. She knew he was messing with her, but she didn't care.
"Sofia... Riddle." She said, ducking her face back to her arms.
"Well, Riddle, I hope that we could be friends." Sofia's heart froze. Friends?... Does he not know who I am?... Or related to...?
"Listen, I get that your friends over there sent you. you can go now. the joke is up." Shenodded to another boy and a short haired girl weho where whispering together.
"Joke?" he stood up. "Well then. I guess I don't have to be nice then." He turned his nose up slightly as he started to walk away. Sofia felt her stomach twist and turn in some weird way. some way she had never felt before. She felt like crying, but also laughing as hard as she could. She felt like racing up to him, and pulling him into a tight hug, and apologizing. She would admit it, she felt guilt. But she stayed stong and sat there until she heard the rest of the table stand up as well. She was walking out, wishing she had some way to hide herself, to run away without anyone noticing. They walked down a long corridor, kids forming a bubble around her to keep away again. but someone else was in the bubble. It was Scorpius.
"What are you doing?" She said, stepping away from him. "No one ever comes into my bubble."
"Your bubble? Theres no your bubble. everyone here are just COWARDS." He yelled the last word, making people around them whisper and talk. Sofia felt a small smile spread across her face, but she hid it, by putting a wall of hair between her and Scorpius. He bumber her shoulder with his, making her blush.
"You shouldn't hide your smile. It looks nice on you." His face was a light shade of pink and Sofia could feel the redness fill her cheeks. The corridor seemed to go on forever, and it was getting darker as they went. Sofia put her hand aginst the wall, feeling the moist, cold, stone to the touch. She felt the stirring in her stomach again, but this time she invited it in.
