The chosen one chapter 1: the acceptance letter. I sat in my room reading the chronicles of Narnia and there was a knock on the front door. Curious, I went downstairs to see who it was. There was an extremely short man about the size of a small child standing in the doorway. He had robes on and a pointed had. I noticed that he had something in his hand. He told me that he was from Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. I had known about the school because it had occurred in my dreams. I took the letter and read: dear Miss Freeman, we are pleased to inform you that you have been excepted at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Please find enclosed all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. The Hogwarts Express Leaves kingscross station at platform 9 3/4 at 11 AM. We await your owl no later than July 31. Your sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Deputy headmistress. It was a second piece of paper and it read: equipment: clothing: three sets of plain black work robes, one black hat, one pair of dragon Hyde gloves, one black cloak with silver fastenings. Books: a standard book of spells grade 1, magical theory, a beginners guide to transfiguration, 1000 magical herbs and fungi, magical drafts and potions, history of magic, the dark forces: a guide to self protection, fantastic beasts and where to find them. Equipment: one wand, one standard size 2 cauldron, three crystal files, one telescope. Students may wish to bring either an owl, cat, or toad. Students are reminded that they are not allowed to bring their own brooms. I was so excited. I couldn’t wait to start. I wrote a message on the back of the letter stating that I will be attending Hogwarts. Professor Flitwick tied it to an owl and it flew out the window presumably to Hogwarts. I couldn’t wait to see what the future would hold.
