You Weren'T You

Chapter 6

The nightmares wouldn't stop. It kept replying in my head. Remus
throwing Siruis to the side like a toy, Remus hurting James and Peter,
Remus's teeth sunk deep into my skin, red everywhere. But what haunted
me the most was Remus's eyes. His yellow eyes that were usually do
beautiful. They were full of pain, sorrow, and resistance. Remus was
trying to stop the Werewolf. If he hadn't been, I would have died. Did
I? Did I die? Or am I in just some strange stage between life and death.

"Ana.
Please wake up. Please. I didn't mean to kill you, let alone hurt you
in any way. Please wake up. I ...I...I love you," I heard a voice.
Remus's voice. I wanted to scream for him, tell him I'm ok, tell him
everything will be ok, tell him I'm alive. But I didn't even know that. I
couldn't move or speak or hear anything. But I felt something salt on
my cheeks. Water, tears. Tears are the words that the mouth can't say,
the pen can't write, and the heart dare not say. All I could do was sit
and wait for my eyes to wake up.

Would I wake up? Or would I be
in this endless slumber forever? If I did wake, how could I ever face
Remus or Siruis again? I told Sirius I had I crush on him, and Remus
professed his love for me. But he ment like a sister, right? What about
my friends? What will they ask? I can't tell them what happened, not
really. Would they sense my lies?

Questions and thoughts ran
through my brain, that it hurt. Pain. That thought brought back the
nightmares. Someone screamed and cried. Maybe it was my friends. Or me.
Or both of us. Or neither. Probably just me. Then, it stopped.
Everything. The thoughts, the pain, the nightmares, the crying and
screaming. Everything. Something...bright burned my eyelids. After a
while of a burning sensation, I realized, that the sun. The sun on my
eyelids. The Sun! My eyes fluttered open. The sun was just peaking over
horizon. But everything was so bright that I had to squint to keep my
eyes open. I was afraid of closing them. I felt something in my hand. I
looked to my right. A head of shaggy brown hair was sprawled on the bed.
Someone's hand was in mine, holding tight as if afraid I was going to
fall off a cliff or something. I smiled a little. The head turned to the
side. Remus's soft face was aimed up at me. It was so cute. I pulled my
hand from his grip and stroked his hair. He moaned quietly. His eyes
slowly opened.

"Hey sleepy head," I giggled. His eyes widened. He hugged me.

"Ana! I'm so sorry! I can't believe I did that! I'm just...it's just..."

"Remmy, it's ok. I'm fine-" I grimaced as a sharp pain shot through both my arm and my leg. Remus's eyes widened further.

"You're brother...Lily...Jinx...Sirius..." Remus stuttered. I laughed.

"They'll
be here sooner than later. Besides I want some time alone with you.
Plus, if you go get them, I'll be all alone," I pouted. Remus sighed, a
smile creeped up his face. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I put
one arm around his neck. The Daily Prophet newspaper appeared from
nowhere and bopped Remus on the head.

"Don't kill the poor girl.
She's been through a lot," Madam Pomfrey scolded him. He pulled back and
sat in his chair, frowning. I giggled again.

"He hasn't left
your side since your attack. He sleeps here every night. Your brother
doesn't like it very much," Madam Pomfrey laughed. I joined in. Remus
blushed a deep red.

"I'll be going now. Just need to speak to
Dumbledore," she walked out. Remus and I just looked at each other. He
smiled, his blush disappearing. I started to blush, my smile faint.

"Yo Remus! Is she awake yet? I need to talk to her," Sirius's voice yelled from outside the hospital wing shouted.

"Quick! Pretend I'm not awake!" I hissed and layed back down, closing my eyes.

"She woke up for a second last night," Remus lied. Wow, he was bad.

"Well,
I need to talk to her about he wee little crush on me," With my eyes
closed, I could tell he was smirking. Heat flushed my cheeks.

"What?!" Remus yelled, standing up. I opened my eyes.

"So it's illegal now to have a crush on someone?" I asked.

"Well, no. But you didn't tell me!" He protested.

"You said she wasn't awake!" Sirius intervened.

"I
only told Pluto. Some other girl knew for some strange reason. Then, I
told Razzy. I didn't know he was Sirius!" I ignored Sirius's outbursts.
Remus and Sirius began to argue. My breath got caught in my throat. Then
they came out short and came in shorter. Spots littered my vision.

"Guys," I croaked. They turned to me.

"Ana!"

"Serana!"

"Boys! What have you done to the poor girl?!" A very angry Madam Pomfrey screamed, hustling in. I fell backwards.

"We were arguing," Remus admitted through clenched teeth.

"Well,
she's hyperventilating. You need to be careful with her. Her emotions
will be very strong. Well, only the last feelings she was feeling before
the attack," Madam Pomfrey shrugged. She put both hands on my elbow and
shoulder.

"Ms. Serana, I need you to breath in and out. Like this," she gave me an example. I tried, but failed.

"She also told me she had asthma," Remus said, smirking at Sirius.

"Very
bad asthma. Last week, she had an asthma attack at night. She had
forgotten to take her inhaler," Sirius smirked back. Madam Pomfrey
didn't bother to ask Sirius why he knew that, but gave him an order
instead.

"Fetch her inhaler for me Mr. Black, please." He ran out.

Third Person:

Sirius
ran out of the Hospital Wing, determined to get Serana's inhaler. After
finding out she liked him, seeing her in so much pain now and a couple
of night ago almost killed him. He arrived the Gryffindor tower.

"Acid Pops," he said. The Fat Lady's portrait swung open and Sirius rushed inside.

"Evans? Jinx?" He called.

"What
do you want Black?" Evans groaned. He frowned at her. Longbottom stood
at the top of the stairs next to the boys dormitories.

"Serana's inhaler. Where is it?" He asked.

"Why?" Longbottom scowled at Sirius.

"Because,
she is hyperventilating," Sirius said through clenched teeth, curling
his fists. Why are they so protective of her? Sirius realized that he
would be too if Serana was more intertwined with his life, which he
wished she was.

"She's awake?" Jinx quickly closed her book she had been reading to ignore the conversation going on around her.

"Yes,
and she can't breath," Sirius growled. Evans and Jinx ran upstairs and
into their room. Frank rushed downstairs. Jinx and Evans came back soon
after and the four of them ran to the Hospital Wing. Gasping for breath,
Jinx handed Madam Pomfrey the inhaler. Serana's face was pale as she
also continued gasping for breath.

"Riv!" Longbottom hustled to his sister's side. Madam Pomfrey placed the inhaler in Serana's mouth.

"I'm
going to press down, I want you to breath in," she ordered. Serana
nodded. They did just that. And again. She smiled at them all.

"What happened Rani?" Evans asked, sitting at the bottom of Serana's bed. Her smile faded.

Normal POV:

I smiled at the five of them.

"What
happened Rani?" Lils asked sitting at the bottom of my bed. Jinxy
joined her on the other side. Remus held my hand, while Frank glared at
him, sitting to my right. My smile faded into nothingness. Sirius stood
at the base of my bed, smiling at me. I had to remind myself to breath. I
shot him my 'I'm telling them,' look. He nodded.

"Sirius is Razzy-"

"What?" Jinxy gasped. Lils stuck her tongue out and began wipping it.

"I kissed him!" She complained.

"Any
way, the other night (I didn't know how long I was out for) I saw him
and ran after him. I got lost in the Forbidden Forest. I first tumbled
down a hill then was attacked my a.........wolf. I broke my leg on the
way down, ran into a few trees, and the wolf tore my skin," I glanced
around at my friends and family. I knew that Remus, Sirius, and Madam
Pomfrey knew what really happened. My other friends could wait. Another
person came running in.

"Rani! Thank goodness your ok," Sev sighed. He looked at my friends and groaned. He started to walk out.

"Sev,
don't go. Remus and Sirius will be civilized for a few seconds," I gave
the boys my killer eyes. I don't know how well it worked, being my face
s scraped and bloody. But they both nodded. Sev walked over and sat on
my bed between Lils and Frank.

"I got you this," he handed me a
box. I slipped my hand from Remus's grip. I placed it on lap and opened
it. It was a box of Burty Botts Every Flavored Beans. I beamed at him.

"I love these! You know me so well Sev!" I one-armed hugged him. He hugged me back.

"I should be going," He got up and left. Remus and Sirius realeased huge exhales.

"That was hard," Sirius gasped.

"Were
you holding your breaths?" I questioned. They both nodded. I laughed.
My friends stayed with me all day. Apparently, it was Saturday, so I
only missed four days. They all left to go to bed. Except Remus. He
stayed in his spot by my bed. After everyone left he grabbed my and
again.

"You can go to bed, you know," I told him. He nodded.

"But you need company," he replied," I'm really sorry. For everything." He bowed his head.

"Remus,"
I raised his hung head with my hand, "You weren't you. You couldn't
have done anything more to stop yourself. Running off was enough." It's
strange to tell a Gryffindor that running away enough. He nodded. Then
did what I least expected. He kissed me.
