Chapter 5
Everyone loved Razzy immediately. Except Remus. He must still be mad
about Razzy attacking him. I asked Dumbledore if I could keep Razzy and
take him to classes. Dumbledore agreed with a chuckle.
"You've had Razzimatazz for three days. Sirius has been gone for three days," Remus said on the third day during Divination.
"This
is why you don't know your constellations, Remmy," I sighed, even
though he was right. I missed Sirius' laugh, smile, random outbursts. I
patted Razzy's head. His tongue was sticking out as he was panting.
Remus rolled his eyes and sloutched in his chair. I shook my head a
laughed a little.
"Mr. Lupin! Ms. Longbottom! Please pay
attention!" Our Divination teacher yelled. Some people sniggered. Others
sighed. Razzy growled.
"Down boy," I chuckled.
Later that night, in the Commen Room, I sat alone on the couch. Well, Razzy Sat next to me.
"Razzy? Have you seen Sirius?" I asked my dog. He just sat there.
"I need to tell you something. Only 2 people, and Pluto, know this," I turned to Razzy, who looked up at me.
"I have a major crush on him. Sirius, I mean. Ever since first year. You can't tell anyone. Jinxy and Lily don't even know-"
"Know what?" Lily asked, walking in and flopping into the armchair next to me.
"You are so like James," Jinxy laughed. Lils sat up, insulted.
"Am not! I am nothing like that toerag!" She protested.
"Yeah-huh," Jinxy and I sighed. Razzy layed his head in my lap. I pet him.
"Where'd you get that dog again?" Lils moved to sit next to me. I was glad they forgot about me not telling them something.
"I was star gazing with Remus-"
"See! You so like him!" Lils squealed. Razzy barked.
"I
do not! Anyway. Razzy here, attacked Remus, but obeyed me. So I kept
him. He's just the cutest thing ever!" I wrapped my arms around his
neck.
"He looks so familiar! The grey eyes, shaggy black fur. It's killing me!" Jinxy complained, throwing her hands in the air.
"Yeah. I see it too," I agreed.
"Well," Lils slapped her hands on the couch," I'm spent. Anyone care to join me upstairs?"
"I'll come too. Rani?" Jinxy looked at me.
"I'll stay here a bit longer," I smiled at them.
"She's probably waiting for Lupin," Lils 'whispered' as they walked away.
"Am
not!" I yelled, as the closed the door. Razzy barked again. I stared
into the fire, thinking. The dream I had other night. It didn't make any
sense. Everything that happened, is it my future? Do I have 'The
Sight'? Or is my brain just playing tricks on me? I sighed a slowly
drifted to sleep.
I was walking down the corridors. Alone. Lils and Sev were off somewhere else. A girl came sprinting up to me.
"You can't love him," she warned.
"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows, entirely alarmed and frightened.
"Sirius
Black. You better take it from me. That boy is like a desise. Run, run
away. Don't let him mess with you mind. He'll tell you anything you want
to here. He'll break your heart it's just a matter of time. Just
remember," with that, she as gone as fast as she had come, leaving me
utterly confused in the middle of the halls.
I woke up,
once again, drenched in sweat. I hadn't seen that girl since then I
expected Razzy to be next to me, but he wasn't. I patted around my
furiously.
"Razzy!" I whispered/yelled. "Razzy!" I began to panic. I stood up and ran all around the Commen Room.
'He could be upstairs. He is a boy,' I thought to myself. I ran quietly up the stairs. I pushed open the first door.
"Razzy.
Here boy," I whispered. No answer. I did the same with the next, then
the next. Until I checked all the doors, and no Razzy. There was one
door left. I pushed it open. James, Peter, Remus, and to my surprise,
Sirius lay sleeping in their beds.
"Razzy," I hissed. No reply. My face fell and I shut the door.
"Riv? What are you doing up here?" I snapped around.
"Um,Frank!
I can't find Razzy. I thought, since he was a boy, he might be up here.
I'll um...just be going," I pushed past him and ran downstairs.
"Girls," I heard him mutter. A small smile crept up my face.
"At least you still have Pluto," Lils tried to comfort me. I nodded, stirring my soup, but not eating it.
"You need to eat. Quidditch tryouts are today," Jinxy put a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged.
"We told you not to get too attached to that dog," Lils laughed a bit. I sighed.
"Yeah,
I know. I should eat. I really wanna make the team this year, but, you
know. James is a sexist toerag," I said and got up to go change for
tryouts, leaving Lils and Jinxy in awe behind me.
"I told you he was a toerag," Lils hissed to Jinxy, making me smile a little.
I dress in this: www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=10293... and walk to the Quidditch field.
"You're really trying out, again?" Remus sighed, running up to me in the same uniform.
"Yup. I'm going to keep trying," I sighed back.
"You've already failed the past three years. Why keep tryin?" He shrugged.
"If I don't get in this year, I'm going to ask MaGonagall if I could be on the Ravenclaw team," I growled.
"Because you are terribly good. I don't see why James won't let you on..." Remus agreed.
"He
is a sexiest toerag. Don't know why I have to keep saying it," I huffed
and walked on the field. Some boys groaned, but most smirked at James,
including Remus and Siruis.
"I don't know why you keep tryout," James seethed.
"Because,
A) I'm good, B) I love Quidditch, and C) I want to prove to people that
girls should never be underestimated by boys," I snapped. Almost
everyone gasped. If never ever been like this before. Ever.
"We'll see how good you actually are," James smirked.
"Let's
see how good you actually are," I said, moutning my broom. I always
went for keeper. I never missed a single Quaffle. All the boys think I'm
good, even James. But he is so low on girls, that he won't let me play.
No wonder Lils doesn't like him.
I flew towards the Goal posts.
Another boy, Jackson Holt I believe, flew to the other one. I smirked at
him, he smirked back. Then it began. Remus was on my team, whilst
Siruis was on Holt's team. The scrimmage goes on and on. I blocked every
single one of the balls, but Holt missed all of them except one.
Satisfied with my achievement, I dismounted my broom and walked off the
field. Since I'm a cluts, I tripped over my own two feet and tumbled
down the hill. Muffled yelps came from my mouth. I hit Hagrid's hut with
a crash and my vision went black.
"Well crap," I moaned.
"You're awake!" The voice of Jinxy exclaimed.
"Yup. Did I make the team?" I asked.
"James
is still decided," Remus's voice piped up. I nodded and opened my eyes.
Remus's eyes seemed sucked in, his face was paler than usual, and he
was dropped a bit.
"Remmy! What happened to you? Are you sick?" I
exclaimed, bolting into an upright position and putting my hands on his
checks. He nodded after a while.
"I'm fine. Just a little tired," he sighed. I got out of bed.
"Well, I'm ok now. So we can all just get outta her," I walked out.
That
night was a full moon. I was walking outside as I did all full moons.
A) because when the moon is low, it's really pretty B) Everything seems
brighter on full moons and C) I believe there is a werewolf at our
school, so I got to hear him every night. I'd never go looking for it
though.
I had made sure I was wearing layers, which I was happy
about because it was extremely cold. I walked along the Black Lake's
river bed. A flash of black crossed by the corner of my eye. I snapped
around. A shaggy black dog stood behind me.
"Razzy!" I exclaimed, running at him. To my dismay, he ran away, into the Forbidden Forest.
"RAZZY!"
I screamed, running after him. I sprinted through the dark, which is a
very bad idea. Rocks and roots snapped under my feet. I hadn't worn any
shoes, so they ripped open my feet. I ran deeper and deeper into the
dangerous forest. A tree branch swept across my face, adding another
cut. But I kept running. I had eventually lost Razzy, but still
continued on. I ran into a clearing. Standing in the middle was a man.
It wasn't just some man.
"Remus?" I whispered. His head turned quickly in my direction, making my jump slightly.
"Ana.
Leave!" He growled. Something was going on with him. His eyes were
yellow, he was getting larger, his face was pulling out into a muzzle,
and his limbs were growing. I walked towards him, one hand held out.
"Remus. What's going on?" I asked.
"FIGURE
IT OUT!" He shouted, realising a horrid scream. Then it hit me. Remus's
love for werewolfs, Lucsious talking about a werewolf, Remus's sick
impression earlier that day, and it was a full moon.
"You're...you're a werewolf," I said.
'Well no durh!' I thought to myself. To prove my point, he let out another ear splitting SCREAM that turned into a howl.
"SERANA!
Get out of here!" I voice yelled from behind me. I turned see who it
came from. I swooned instantly. Sirius. I smiled slightly.
"Run,
Longbottom!" James shouted. Peter signaled for me to run. All three of
them charged towards us. I shouldn't have turned around. Remus was too
close and was a werewolf. An extreme pain erupted from back. I let out a
yelp as I was thrown against a nearby tree. After a couple of seconds, I
sat back up and propped myself against the tree, only to see Remus
running at me. I have always said I've wanted to meet a werewolf. But I
never wanted death by werewolf. I cover my face with my arm. There was a
slight bark. I uncovered my face and opened my squinting eyes. Razzy
was on top of Remus, a stag and rat ran closer to help Razzy. I then
realized something. Razzy was Siruis. Siruis was Razzy. Siruis was a dog
Animagus. Peter was obviously the rat. That ment that James was the
stag. That also means Siruis knows about my crush in him. I almost
hurled. Remus slashed at Razz...Siruis, sending him flying into the tree
next to me. I gasped. He looked up at me for a second, then collapsed. I
breathed heavily. I noticed only too late, that Remus was coming back
at me. James and Peter were trying stop him, but with little prevail.
Remus was determined to get me. I tried to crawl away, but a terrible
pain shot threw my leg. I screamed. I'd broken it. Something big jumped
on me. I screamed again, but louder and more frightened than in pain.
Tears formed eyes as I attempted to use my arms to stop Remus's jaws
from getting my flesh. His claws racked at my sides, arms, and legs.
Blood poured from the cuts almost quicker than the tears poured from my
eyes.
"Please Remus," I begged. "Please stop." I looked to the
side. Peter was limping and James was trying stand. Siruis was still
unconscience. I was completely alone. Remus's jaws latched onto my arm.
He thrashed wildly, making fits of screams erupt from my mouth. I
couldn't take anymore of it. I used my only good arm and lamely hit his
head. He stopped and looked up at me. He stopped thrashing and tearing
into my arm. He stared at me.
"Please," I pleaded. My voice came
out raspy and dead. Endless tears came from my eyes like a river. He
dropped my arm and ran into the woods. I lay there until I blacked out.
The last thing I remembered seeing was Siruis staggering over to me.
