"So, Moony, Eclipse, you like question ten?" James asked. I nodded.
"Oh yeah."
"Name three signs of a werewolf," Remus rolled his eyes.
"One, she's wearing my clothes," I sighed, smiling.
"Two, he's sitting in my seat," Remus added.
"Three, his or her name is..."
"Serana Longbottom and Remus Lupin," we said unanimously.
"You know, that's really freaky," Sirius said. I laughed. I looked up and saw Lucy and Cissy fighting about something.
"Hey, guys? I'll catch up with you later," I said, standing. I jogged over to the couple.
"She's
my best friend! You can't just expect me to throw her to the side! Her
old friends already did that, I can't do it too!" Cissy shouted. I
cringed.
"Guys, what's going on?" I asked.
"Speak of the devil and she will come," Lucy grumbled.
"Lucious!" Cissy swatted his arm ,"Lucy here thinks that you're 'bad' for me and that you're 'changing me' into things I'm not."
"Please
don't fight because of me. Lucy, you're my friend, are you not? You
love Cissy, yes? Just let us be friends. I'll spend less time with her,
if that pleases you, hut I'm staying her friend." Cissy crossed her arms
and snorted. I watched as they started shouting again, about something
or another.
Gee, I want a relationship like that.
I
heard a distant chant and turned to see what it was. James had Sev hung
up by his ankle. Evans walked over and said something. Sev replied and
Evans huffed away. By this time, I was walking over.
"Sev? Sev!" I ran over to James and the Marauders.
"Let him down, James," I said sharply.
"Snivellus
here needs to be taught a lesson," James snarled. What had Sev said to
Lily? I rushed forward. Peter and Sirius held me back. Remus stepped
away, shaking his head.
"Let him down." I repeated. James didn't answer.
"Go away, Serana!" Sev shouted.
"Let. Him. Down!" My blood boiled under my skin. I growled lowly.
"River?
River, calm down-" but it was too late. I shrunk down, my hands growing
into paws. I leapt over Sirius and Peter. I sprinted at James and
jumped on him full speed. He fell over. I heard a thud. Sev was down.
I snapped my jaws at James, growling and snarling. Fear struck his face. My eyes widened and I backed away.
What had I done?
I stepped away from him, my head lowering.
"Serana!"
Three pieces scolded. I looked up to see Remus, Peter, and Sirius
glaring at me. I whimpered and backed away. I walked over to Sev and
nuzzled his arm. He slowly got up.
"I don't need your help, mutt," he
snapped pushing me away. I fell backwards and tripped on a rock. There
was a crack and I howled quietly.
Sev stormed off without me, so I
was forced to walk alone to the castle, limping as I went. I turned back
to look at the others. Sirius' face told me what I'd done wasn't easily
forgivable.
I made it to the Hospital Wong before having to turn
back to human form. I told The nurse that I'd tripped on a rock and my
arm was healed instantly. I headed towards the Common Room, still
wondering what on earth Sev had said to Lily.
