Both Blacks?
Chapter 29
Normal POV:
"Soo…Reg. You…um…wanted to talk to me about something?" he said, nervously playing with my fingers.
"Yeah. Um…I was wondering if you would like to come w……" he muttered the last part, making it almost impossible to hear.
"Excuse me?"
"WouldyouliketocomewithmetoHogsmeadthisweekend?" He asked really fast. I beamed.
"Sure! Um, yeah, I guess. That'd be great!" I smiled at him. He smiled too. I hugged him.
"I'll see you Saturday then. Three Broomsticks?" Reg said. I nodded.
"See you then! Bye!" I waved and ran off towards The Gryffindor Commen Room.
Sirius' POV:
What
was River doing with my brother? He asked her something and she smiled
and hugged him. What happened? She seemed so happy. What had he done?
Should I ask her? No probably not. She'd just yell at me, again. I
couldn't ask myself what I'd don to deserve her anger, that was simple. I
had hurt her so badly, she probably didn't even want to be my friend
anymore.
I sighed. I headed back the Commen Room.
"Pig Farts," I said. The Portrait opened and I stepped inside.
"Hey,
um, Lils? I'm going to spend this Hogsmead trip with Sev, Narcissa, and
Reg. Is that OK?" I heard the sweet, angelic voice of Serana ask her
best friend.
"Yeah! Sure! I just hope that they don't hurt you," Evans said.
"They
won't! You know Sev! And Reg wouldn't let anything happen to me. Plus,
Narcissa saved me last year from the torment of the Slytherins. I think
she's pretty safe." The couch made a springy sound.
"I need you to be honest with me, Rani," Evans said, clearing her throat.
"Yeah.
You're my best friend, I'll be honest." I peaked over the corner. River
was smiling broadly, but Evans' face was serious (HA! I'm so funny).
"Do
you still like Sirius?" Evans asked. There was a pause, a long pause.
River didn't say anything. She pulled something out of her pocket. It
was the locket I gave her!
"Rani? You still have that?" Evans'
voice was filled with concern. River had tears in her eyes. She chucked
the necklace…at me. I yelped.
"Hey! It's not nice to throw things at people!" I yelled.
"It's
not nice to eavesdrop on other people's conversations!" River glared at
me. Evans grabbed her arm and pulled her up stairs. I messed up…again. I
picked up the locket and closed hand tightly around it, promising
myself that I won't do anymore stupid things.

"Bye
Lils! Bye Jinxy! Bye Alice! Bye Marlene!" I called and skipped out the
door. I had my permission slip in hand as I ran out to the front of the
school. I saw Reg and smiled at him. I handed Filch my paper and ran
over to Reg.
"What'd you tell your friends?" He asked with a laugh.
"That I'm hanging with you, Sev, and Narcissa," I beamed proudly. He laughed.
"You're cute sometimes," he said. I blushed.
"Come
on! Let's get a carriage," I dragged Reg along behind me. We sat in a
carriage. The door opened and Sirius and James stepped in. I rolled my
eyes.
"Oh! River! Regulus…" Sirius glared at Reg. I glared at Sirius in return.
"So, what are you to doing?" James asked, smiling.
"We're going to the Three Broomsticks," Reg said.
"To meet some other Slytherins!" I added quickly, sending a quick glare at Reg who shrugged.
"So it's not a date?" James smirked at Sirius.
"No," we said way too quickly.
"Why would I go on a date with him? He's my little brover," I put him in a headlock. I sent him a 'play along' Look.
"Yup,
she's my big sister!" Reg agreed, attempting to get out of my headlock.
I let him go and glared at Sirius. The carriage stopped. I grabbed
Reg's hand and pulled him to the Three Broomsticks. We sat down at a
table for two.
"And what would two love birds like?" A waitress asked, grinning.
"Oh, we're not…" I tried.
"It…we're not together," Reg explained.
"Oh, I see. Keeping it low. Let me guess Gryffindor and Slytherin?" The waitress winked at us.
"Two Butterbeers please," I whispered.
"Coming right up," she laughed.
"Wow. That was-" Reg started.
"Embarrasing?" I suggested.
"Something
like that," He sighed. I laughed. I thought this could actually be fun!
Reg and I laughed and talked. He even held my hand under the table.
That was love. Not the kind of love you'd get from another boy, but the
love you get from a brother.
Of course, with this being my life, something had to go wrong.
Sirius burst through the door, with Remus, James, and Peter, following behind. I groaned and took another sip of Butterbeer.
"Yo! Little bro! What's up? Where's the rest of the Slytherins?" Sirius asked pulling up a chair.
"Go away Sirius," I snapped, glaring at him.
"Hurtful , love," he smirked. My stomach flipped.
"Leave her alone!" Reg yelled.
"Pads! You were right! It is a date!" James yelled. Reg and I pulled our hands away.
"You lied?" Sirius pouted.
"Yes, we did. Now go away!" I hissed.
"I'm telling Lily-flower!" James yelled, and an out.
"No! James don't! Please-" I gave up. I banged my head on the table.
"Look what you've done, Sirius! Now he's telling Lily. What's she gonna say? Go away," I whispered.
"Sirius, can I talk to you?" Reg through his teeth. The pair of them left, leaving me alone at last.
Regulus' POV:
"I can't believe you lied to me!" Sirius hissed.
"Why do you care who Rani goes on dates with?" I snarled.
"You know perfectly well why," he glared at me.
"Well, maybe next time you shouldn't play her like that!" I yelled, anger swelling inside of me.
"What do you care?" Sirius crossed his arms.
"She's like my sister!" I shouted.
"Then why are you dating her?" Sirius laughed.
"To help her," I breathed slowly.
"To help her in what?" Sirius frowned.
"To
help her, heal her. She's had such a hard past month, and playing with
her feelings, isn't going to help at all," I said through my teeth.
"I know how she feels!" He boomed.
"No,
you don't! You didn't watch your best friend get murdered, then kill
five men! You didn't have to sit through a werewolf tearing into your
arm! You didn't have to sit and watch the one you love shove someone
else in your face! You didn't get thrown at a tree and almost killed!
You've felt none of that!" I screamed. He backed down slightly.
"I was there for her when she was crying after Tonks died." He said.
"I
was there for her when she was confused and scared, I was there for her
when she as almost killed, twice, I was there for her when she was
afraid. You were the one who hurt her. She almost stabbed herself
because of the pain she was feeling, the pain You caused." I at him. He
glared at me and walked out of the bathroom. I followed closely behind
him. I noticed Rani wasn't in the pub anymore, so I looked for her. As
soon as my feet touched the pavement, Rani had her arms flung around my
neck and she was sobbing.
"What's wrong?" I asked, rubbing her back.
"What did I do? What did I do to deserve this?" She wailed.
