Him And Me
Chapter 25
"River? What's the answer to number 6?" Sirius asked. I sighed.
"Read me the question, Razzy." I had finished our Charms homework the day it was assigned.
"What is the spell that casts fire from you're wand?" He read. I pointed my wand at the fire.
"Inciendo," I said. Flames burst out and into the fire pit. Sirius beamed.
"Thanks River! You're the best!" Sirius exclaimed and kissed my cheek, again. I blushed and went back to reading 'The Hobbit'.
"River? What does number 7 mean?" Sirius whined.
"Read it to me," I sighed, not taking my eyes off My book.
"The opposite spell of question number 6 is what?"
"Question number six is fire, correct? What's the opposite of fire?"
"Water?"
"What is the water spell?" I questioned.
"I
don't know!" Sirius complained. I slammed my book shut and looked up.
Sirius's face was just inches away. I came up with an idea. I kissed his
nose.
"What's the water spell?" I repeated.
"Aguamenti," he muttered.
"Good boy," I pet his head and walked upstairs.
"Where you going, River? I still need help!" He called.
"No you don't," I said before walking into my dorm. Marlene, Alice, Jinxy, and Lils all sat on their beds, looking at me.
"What were you doing with Black?" Lils asked.
"Nothing. I was reading, he was doing homework," I said.
"You're blushing,"Jinxy pointed out.
"So?" I shrugged and flopped onto my bed.
"What happened? Come oon! Tell us!" Marlene giggled. I laughed.
"He asked me the answer fir number six. I gave it to him and he missed my cheek. Big deal," I opened my book again.
"Big- it is a big deal, Rani!" Alice yelled.
"Calm yourself, Alice," I sighed.
"Rani, this isn't just a friendly gesture! He's hitting on you!" Lils shouted.
"Blah. Razzy wouldn't hit on me-"
"Calling him by his nickname won't make it any better!" Jinxy protested.
"Like
there's anything wrong? He's my friend! Shouldn't you be happy for me?
At least Marlene's a good friend," I growled. I grabbed my book and
stormed away.
"River? Can you help me with number eight?" Sirius asked.
"Not now, Razzy," I said, my voice low.
"What's wrong, River?" He got up and walked towards me.
"Lily, Jinxy, and Alice don't like that you're my friend," I sighed.
"Would you stop being my friend because they wanted you to?" He asked. I sat down on the couch with a humph.
"No.
They can't control who I'm friends with. The way they act, they'd
rather have me be friends with Narcissa, which I am. Plus, it's not like
they have to listen to you be constantly annoying."
"Hey, that's
not nice," He pouted. I laughed and shook my head. I looked at him. Him
And me. Me and him. River and Razzy. Serana and Sirius. I liked the
sound of that.
"Whatcha smiling about?" Sirius bumped my shoulder.
"Nothing, nothing. Just thinking," I blushed and looked away.
"Remember
that night? Of our play, right? When you said that kiss didn't mean
anything to you, were you lying?" He asked. My eyes widened. I hadn't
thought of that. I really want had the time to think about Sirius and me
kissing.
"Um...yes? No? Maybe? Possibly? I don't know?" I said
really quickly. Sirius puts a hand on my cheek and moves my face to look
at him.
"Look me in the eye and tell me it didn't mean anything."
Gosh darn it! I hated it when people did that. I couldn't resist
looking into his beautiful grey eyes. I wanted to look away, but I
couldn't. I was stuck in his gaze. His eyes were pulling me closer and
closer.
Our lips met. It wasn't like the one at the play, forced, unwanted. It was gentle and sweet.
"Dang
it! Moony won!" Someone exclaimed. Sirius and I pulled away. I jumped
back and fell onto the floor. James was there, an expression of lose
written on his face.
"You were betting on us?" Sirius asked, chuckling. James beamed.
"It
was bound to happen sooner of later. Moony assumed it was this year,
Peter said next year, I said 7th year. I owe Moony now 10 galleons.
Thanks guys for working with me here!" James yelled sarcastically.
"Please
don't tell Remus! If you tell Remus, Remus'll tell Jinxy, and Jinxy
will tell Lils and Alice! There's only two people we can trust to tell,"
I stood up.
"Who's that?" James asked.
"Malrene and Peter."
"You what?" Marlene gasped.
"I'm
sorry! It's just he asked...then I couldn't answer...he told me look
him in the eyes...then we kissed!" I exclaimed. I didn't expect what she
did.
"Yes!" She hugged me.
"Shouldn't you be mad at me?" I asked her, wiping away a tear.
"Why would I be mad at you? If I can't have Sirius, I was rooting for you. Serana Black. That sounds so awesome!!" She squealed.
"Hold up Marlene, don't get too ahead of yourself. Besides, I haven't talked to Sirius since then."
"When was it?" She asked.
"Yesterday.
You have to promise not to tell anybody. Especially not Lils and Jinxy.
Promise?" I gripped her shoulders. She nodded, then smiled, squealed
and hugged me again.
"Good. No telling anyone," I slowly backed
away from her. James, Peter, Remus, and, of course, Sirius, all came
running up to me as I walked away from Marlene. Actually, it was seemed
as if Remus and Sirius were trying to race towards me, with James and
Peter behind, laughing. Sirius and Remus were shoving each other.
"You guys kissed?"
"Wasn't my fault!"
"You weren't going to tell me?"
"He was standing right there!"
"I can't believe I won!"
"James' fault!"
The two boys yelled in unison. I was shocked.
"Uh..."
"Look
what you guys did to her! Poor Eclipse is all wonky now!" James propped
an arm on my shoulder, earning a glare from Sirius.
"It's OK, I guess. Just as You don't tell Jinxy," I pointed at Remus.
"Don't tell El. Right. How am I supposed to do that?" Remus said, panting.
"Don't bring it up," I shrugged.
"I should be off. Don't want the girls to be suspicious," I waved and left.
"Bye River!" Sirius yelled. I blushed.
Him and me. Him And me. Him and me.
