Lils and I walked into the Great Hall together. I ran to the table to get a seat on the corner. Lils sat next to me.

"Still
sticking with your 'I'm gonna sit in the corner so that no one except
Lily can sit by me,' thing?" She said, in a very terrible mocking of my
voice. I nodded and pulled out my book.

"Why don't you get Lupin to sit with us. He obviously likes you," Lily emphasized the 'obviously'. I laughed and shake my head.

"You crack me up, Lils," I go back to reading.

"Whatcha reading anyway?" She asked.

"Les
Misérables by Viktor Hugo," I replied not tearing my eyes from the
book. I had just gotten to the part where Eponine dies. It made me tear
up.

"This year, we will be welcoming a new student into our
fourth years. Please Welcome, Ellie Jinx!" Dumbledore yelled. My eyes
widened. A new student? No, that's not right! A girl with black hair
that went down to her bum, slowly walks up to the stool. She sits on it
and chews her lip nervously.

"Ah, yes. Ms. Jinx. I've been
waiting for you. You remind me of someone. Oh! What was her name? Yes,
Serana Longbottom. You would get along very well with her," the hat
said. I felt dozens of eyes on me. I sunk lower into my seat. "Better
be, GRYFFINDOR!"

I clapped, so did everyone else. The girl,
Ellie, jogged over to me and Lily, being that the seat across from us
was the only seat left.

"Hello, I'm Lily Evans," Lils holder out
her hand. Ellie nervously shook it. I continued reading my book. My eyes
welled up with tears once more.

"Rani," Lils hissed.

"Wha- oh, sorry. My name's Serana. Serana Rivers Longbottom," I smiled at her.

"So the hat thinks were the same," she smile back nervously. I nodded. I guess.

"What book are you reading?" She peered over the table.

"Les Misérables," I sighed.

"Oh my gosh! I've read that like 5 time!" She squealed.

"This is my first time! Don't spoil it!" I laughed holding my hands up.

"Hey, can I read it after you?" Lils asked, interested. I nodded again.



After dinner, Lils, Ellie, and I walked to the Commen Room.

"This
year will be so fun!" Lils exclaimed. I nodded, but I thought
differently. There was something strange going to happen that year, I
knew it. We go up to the Dorm. In the dorm was Alice (poo), Lils (yes!),
Molly Prewett (I guess she's ok), Ellie (collieo!), and moi. I look at
my friends. We all made a long, exaggerated 'yesss'. Some voices ring
from downstairs. I peek over. James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter come
laughing in. Well, James and Sirius more obnoxiously, while Remus and
Peter not nervously. Being the cluts that I am, I tripped on my own two
feet from standing still head first down the stairs. I tumbled all the
way down. I landed on my bum with an Oof! I nervously looked up, seeing
all four Mraurders looking back down at me.

"Hi?" I gave them a
nervous smile. James and Sirius bursted out laughing. Chuckling a bit,
Remus walked over and held his hand out forme. I grabbed it (after a
second of resistance), and he pulled me up.

"Thanks," I mumble, hanging my head.

"Chin
up sweetie. Your crown's falling off," He smirked. I blushed a deep
tomato red, and scrambled back up the stairs. I pushed past laughing
Lils and Ellie into our dorm. They walked in.

"So, I saw you talking to Lupin, what was that about?" Lils wiggled her eyebrows. I blushed again.

"He helped me up," I said simply.

"And..." they looked at me expectantly. I mumbled what he told me.

"What was that?" Lils teased, holding back a smile.

"He
said 'Chin up, sweetie. You're crown's falling off'," I replied, loud
enough for the people next door to hear. Lils and Ellie went into a
laughing fit.

"Shut up," I threw a pillow at them, but laughed a
little. Alice and Molly came in. We kept laughing. Lils and Ellie fell
onto their beds. I just rolled backwards. Molly and Alice looked at us
weird.



I was laying awake. The argument downstairs probably was keeping everyone up.

"You have to like the one girl who I like too? The one girl who understands me?" The first person yelled.

"She doesn't understand you! She doesn't even know what you are!" The second one replied angrily.

"What
about you? How could she possibly live you? You're a cheater, a player.
Her brother would never allow it," the first one said, a tinge of
victory in his voice.

"Oh, and her brother would let You date her?" The second laughed cockily.

"Guys!
Yell quieter or somewhere else. She's right up there," a third voice
chimed in. I knew who the voices were. I had no clue who they were
talking about, or what the first person was, but I did know it didn't
sound good.

"RANI WAKE UP!!!" Lils screamed in my ear.

"5moreminutes," I slurred.

"What?" Lils yelled.

"5 more minutes," I groaned.

"Huh? One more time, I can't quiet hear you," she shouted.

"
5 MORE MINUTEZ!" I screamed. Great, I was awake now. I sat up. Ellie
stiffled a laugh. I glared at her. I have terrible bed hair, have had it
since I was born. I walked to the bathroom and brushed it. I brushed my
teeth as well. I changed. I walked into the Commen Room lounge, as Lily
and I call it. I saw Ellie and Lils sitting there. Lils looked at Ellie
and my outfits.

girls look great!" She finally exclaimed. I seemed to have been holding
my breath, 'cause I let it out quickly. US three skipped to the Great
Hall.
