I'M A Wolf

Chapter 13

Hey Evans! Nice dog!" Someone called from behind us. Laughing followed. Sirius.

"She's not a dog. She's a wolf," Lils clenched her fists, and stood in defence. I growled at Sirius and Marlene.

"What's her name?" Marlene seemed genuinely excited about my existence.

"Eclipse.
Her name is Eclipse," Lils looked at me. I panted. Sirius fell over
laughing. I turned back and growled at him. No one, and I mean no one,
laughs at Lily and got away with it. Not on my watch. I leapt at him.
Marlene shrieked. I stopped right before his body. I was only half a
foot shorter than he. A brilliant idea came to my mind. I turned back to
Lils, who read my idea immediately and started laughing. I propped my
paws up onto Sirius's shoulder and licked his whole face with my
incredibly long tongue. He stood there, shocked, as I trotted haughtly
back to Lils, my tail high in the air. Lils bent down and rubbed my
head.

"Keep your dog under control Evans," Sirius groaned, my spit still on his face. I braked loudly.

"Wolf! Sorry! Keep your wolf under control," he walked away, Marlene giggling behind him.

"Ok, Rani. You can turn back now," Lils breathed. I tried.

"Rani. Any day now," Lils sighEd. I tried again. Then shook my head in disappointment.

"You can't," she gasped. I hung my head, ashamed. Her eyes widened.

"We're taking you to Dumbledore. Come, Eclipse!" She called as She an towards the castle. Like I needed to be called.

"Nice dog, Evans!" A multitude of people shouted, causing Lils to shout back 'SHE S A WOLF!!" I trotted behind her panting.

"Cool wolf, Lily," Tonks smiled at us. I walked over and licked Tonks' hand.

"Rani, come on," Lils hissed.

"Wait, this is Rain?" Tonks exclaimed. I nodded my head slowly, sitting down, and still panting.

"Yeah, she can't turn back. Now, come on," Lils yelled. I licked Tonks again before following Lils to Dumbledore's office.

"Sherbert
Lemon," Lils said irritability. The gargoyle becomes the staircase to
the office. Lils jumped up the stairs, skipping every 3 steps, with me
following very closely behind her.

"Professor Dumbledore, sir!" Lils shouted, bursting through the door.

"Ah! Miss Evans! Miss Longbottom! It looks like you have, not one, but two furry problems!" He looked at me over the top of his half-moon glasses.

"You know this is Serana?" Lils asked, breathing deeply. Professor Dumbledore just laughed and nodded.

"She can't turn back sir," Lils said.

"Ah,
so it seems. You my dear," Professor Dumbledore walked out from behind
his desk and looked straight at me, "are a very special breed of
Animagus, called a Wolf. Well, it depends on the type of animal you turn
into. The animal isn't pickable, neither is the time you change. At
first, you can't control it when you turn into or back out of your form.
Most Wolfs change when they get extremely mad, and change back when
they are extremely happy. Once you've had enough practice, you can do it
without even trying or needing to," he explained. "I need you to think
of something Happy, Serana, something really happy."

I close my eyes.

"GRYFFINDOR!"
The hat screamed. Smiling, I skipped over to the Gryffindor table.
There was clapping, but not a lot. I sat next to my brother and he
hugged me.

"Good job Lil' sis!" He exclaimed.

"Hey, I'm older than you," I pointed my finger at his nose.

"Hi. I'm Lily. Lily Evans," a girl with red hair, like mine, smiled at me, holding her hand out.

"Serana...Serana Longbottom," I blushed deeply.

"Frank Longbottom, he older brother."

"Younger."

"Older."

"Whatever." When I looked back at Lily, she was smiling. I flushed again.

"There's
no need to be afraid of me. I won't hurt you, I promise," Lily
reassured me. This made me smile, the only person ever to say they
wouldn't hurt me was Frank, and of course, my mother.

"Longbottom?
What kind of name is that?" Said a boy next to me. His voice sent
shivers down my spine. I turned and there he was. His hair was long,
black, and messy. His eyes were grayish, like storm clouds. He wore a
smile that was bright and funny. My voice got caught in my throat, so no
sounds came out. I just stared at the wondrous boy.

"It's our name, so back off," Frank snarled. The boy put his hands up innocently.

"What you staring at?" He looked at me and laughed. I tore my eyes from his glorious figure, and to my plate.

"I...uh...I...um-"

"Can
you actually make a sentence, or are you just going to stutter?" He
laughed, making me blush from embarrassment and from the fact that he
was actually talking to me.

"Go away," Lily snapped. I lifted my head to see her smile.

"Thanks," I whispered.

"I told you, I got your back."

When I opened my eyes again, I was in Professor Dumbledore's office.

"You did it Rani!" Lils exclaimed, hugging me. I looked at my hand. My hand!

"Yes!" I screamed. Dumbledore coughed awkwardly. I noticed I didn't have any clothes on. I yelped.

"Do
you, uh, do you happen to have a coat or something?" I was a deep deep
red. Professor Dumbledore chuckled and tossed me a red coat, the same
colour as my fur.

"It's enchanted, if you have it with you while
you change, not necessarily wearing it, but if it's close to you, you'll
have it on your body when you change back," he explained. I nodded.

"What about my other clothes?" I asked, cringing.

"In the pocket on the inside." I pulled out the clothes and sighed with relief. I quickly put them on.

"We can go now," Lils laughed. I nodded.

"Thanks, Professor!" I called as we ran downstairs. We raced back to the Commen Room, shoving each other.

"There you are Evans! Go on a date with me?" James smirked, but Lils immediately replied with 'no.'

"Hey, Evans. Where's your dog?" Sirius laughed, Marlene on his lap. The stabbing feeling came back.

"She's a wolf, Black!" Lils shrieked.

"Gosh
Evans, calm down!" Sirius rolled his eyes. I couldn't believe he didn't
even see me. I couldn't believe all cared about was hurting the one's I
love. I growled, but winced, due to the pain in my chest. Lils must
have felt my pain as well.

"You are cruel, cruel, boy, Sirius
Black. You are arrogant, wicked, sick, and evil. You play with girls,
just for the fun of it. You treat us like toys. You hurt her, more than
you know. You're so blind. I disgust me," Lils snarled I saw a glint in
the light on Lils' cheek. Must have been a tear. She reached behind her
and grabbed my hand, pulling me upstairs.

"No you did it, Padfoot! Evans will never go out with me now," I heard James say as tears rolled down my cheeks.

"Hey
guys. What's wrong, Rani?" Jinxy shut her book and stood by me. I was
trying to hold as many tears in as I could, but as soon as she reached
me, I burst into tears.

"He didn't even see m-me. He just insulted Lils. He didn't even see me," I cried.

"What'd it feel like?" Lils asked, leading me to the bed.

"Are
you a therapist now? Do I have to call you Miss Potter...I mean, Miss
Evans?" I hiccuped. Lils sent me a cold glare. I put my hand up mock
surrender and wiped away a few tears.

"It feels like someone is
stabbing me in the chest with a knife. Over and over and over," I showed
them the motion. Jinxy grabbed my hand in her own trembling hand as if
it hurt her to see me 'stabbing' myself.

"It's ok, Rani. There are plenty of people out there. You'll find someone," Lils reassured me.

"Thanks," I whispered.

"I told you, I got your back."
