Chapter Five: Madeline

 Maddy read her hand again.

 Carrie: looks+boy

 Jacob: looks+girl

 Smiling, Maddy shook her head.

 "Bye Maddy! See ya tomorrow!" Carrie, Jacob, Nora, Katie, Anna, Ira, Anna, and Cynthia called. Maddy waved behind her as she walked over to her mother, her little sister, Dee Dee, following close behind her.

 Images flashed across a black screen. Maddy sat in a chair, watching the screen as if it were a movie. There were images of people, eyes, hair, heights, numbers, colours. Maddy shut her eyes for a second, trying to focus.

 She saw a girl. She had a medium brown hair-colour and matching green eyes. She was wearing robes that had green trimes. Her arms were crossed, jaw clenched. The numbers 5'6 flashed across the screen. Bucky.

 The next person was a boy. He looked 6'0, and the numbers agreed with her. He had shaggy blonde hair and icy blue eyes. He was smiling, laughing, Maddy presumed. His robe trimmings were blue. Jake.

 She saw all of them. She saw Marie, Emma, Rupert, Daniel, Andromeda, Livy. She also saw Marlene Mickinnon, though didn't know her importance.

 She shut her eyes again.

  It must be Severus.

 Then she heard the voice in her head.

 'Esme?'

 Yes....

 'Its me, Sev'

 I think I knew that. Severus, I have a question for you. Is Bucky or Jake dating anyone?

 'What? No. But there is-' his voice was cut off. Instead images started flashing again.

 First, a boy with light brown hair and green eyes matching Bucky's. He was wearing yellow trimmed robes. Second, was Andromeda. Maddy was confused for a second, thinking it was Tonks.

 Sev? Sev, are you there? SEVERUS!

 Maddy bolted upright. Tears ran down her face. She'd managed to talk to Severus...

 No! This is crazy! Carrie and Jacob were just making stuff up. She must have been thinking about it. Harry Potter is just a book, isn't it?

 Furiously, she wiped away her tears. She'd keep up with this story, just to make Carrie and Jacob happy.

 Just as she thought this, she felt a tingle on her lips. As she touched them with her fingertips, she felt more tears prick into her eyes.

 "Remus," she breathed.

 "Maddy?" Her mother's Spanish accented voice called trough her door.

 "I'm coming."

 "So Maddy, you talk to Severus last night?" Carrie asked in Design the next day. Maddy nodded.

 "Yeah. You're a brunette with brown eyes. Five foot six. Jacob you're-"

 "Please say I'm tall," he pleaded. Carrie laughed.

 "You're a blonde with blue eyes. Six feet even."

 "Yessssss," Jacob said, grinning.

 "Neither of you are dating, but there's something about Andromeda and another Hufflepuff boy. The Hufflepuff had blonde hair and green eyes as well-"

 "Charlie," Carrie gasped.

 "What?"

 "Charlie. Charles Wood. Oliver's dad. I must be Oliver's mother-"

 "Woah, don't get carried away now," Maddy teased. Carrie punched her shoulder lightly.

 "Do you know any other people? Like, who they are and stuff?" Jacob asked, leaving his elbows on the table.

 "I think Nora is Emma, Katie is Rupert, Kyle is Daniel. Grace is 'Dromeda. Cynthia is Marie. Anna is Olivia, Livy actually. I think Ira is Marlene, but I'm not positive. That's all I really know," Maddy said. Carrie and Jacob smiled. Maddy looked down as her left hand slowly started to tingle.

 "He's holding your hand, isn't he?" Carrie whispered. Maddy didn't answer.
