My First Day at Hogwarts (Part 1)

Chapter 2

As I was once a fellow first-year student like you, I felt like I should give an example of how I felt on my first day. So here I go!

Being a Halfblood (my mum's a Pureblood, and my dad's a Muggle), of course I knew a fair bit about what Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had to offer. To start right from the beginning of my spectacular journey to Hogwarts, King's Cross Station was extraordinary! Not that I'd hadn't been there before, but I had no idea that it would still as magical and exciting as it did before. The rush to the station was brilliant! While many first years were afraid of crossing the barrier, I flew through the wall before my mother could even direct me. The moment I entered the Wizarding side of King's Cross Station, the real magic began.
The Hogwarts Express had an aura of its own, it's red gleaming engines shining brightly into my eyes. My parents came from behind me, helping me get my luggage and my pet cat, Pepper, on to the train. I bid my farewells in the most excited way and boarded the train, my enthusiasm increasing every passing second.
After much hunting around the train, I eventually found a compartment to sit in. I also found some company, which consisted of a pretty blonde-haired girl called Lea Aprile, who told me she was from Belfast, Northern Ireland and used to attend Amarelow's Academy in Canada. There was also a young brown haired boy in there too, who was called Ben Ellis. He didn't say very much, just watched me and Lea talk.
