Diary of a First-Year Hufflepuff
It’s me, Grace. I’m a first-year Hufflepuff who likes to write my day at Hogwarts. I hope you find my diary interesting and enjoyable and I hope that future generation first-years will also learn as they go, just like I did. Many of these entries are based on actual events happening in my life, but obviously I twist the stories a little to make them more magical!

Phew!
Chapter 17
Dear Diary,
Phew! I have finally gotten my Arithmancy AND Astronomy exams over. In Astronomy I got 13/15 problems right - I don't know how I really feel about that grade, but it's okay. We haven't gotten are exam results or Arithmancy yet. Anyways, right now I'm just relaxing on the couch in my common room.
I just realized - I haven't given you a description of the Hufflepuff common room! It's an amazing common room really, but I'll describe everything to you:
THE HUFFLEPUFF COMMON ROOM
The Hufflepuff common room is a warm and cozy environment that even a Slytherin couldn't resist. Our common room is in the lower part of Hogwarts right next to the kitchens, which is why we love food. Our common room has circle & squared windows that allow the warm sun rays to shine through and bathes everyone in its warm embrace. The floors in our common room is stable wood. Because our common room is lower and what you could say underground, the windows are the only things that reveal the outside, but only ground level. We can see other peoples' shoes walking this way and that way. Near the windows we have a soft, yellow, overstuffed couch that could fit about 3-4 people with a few overstuffed pillows and a thin little grey blanket. Near that is a soft white chair for one person. In front of our couch is a large T.V (the Wizarding World has UPGRADED muggle devices, okay?) we like to turn on sometimes. In the corner of our common room is a table with three chairs surrounding it, a relaxing place for 'Puffs to just chat, read, study, or eat the food we stole or sometimes we bring food from the Great Hall into our common room.
behind the couch are two tables that are piled with different stuff from different Hufflepuffs. Books, food, candy, quills, computers, hats, water fillers, and all those in between. It's definitely a useful part of the common room!
Next we have a white, spiral staircase leading to the boys and girls dormitories. I haven't been in the boys dorm, but I'm guessing it's similar to the girls. In our dorms are a few other beds with yellow bed sets, although a lot of students brought their own bed sets with a variety of different colors. The floors are soft carpet that catches, in my opinion, way too much dust, hair, and dirt, and nobody bothers to clean it except for the "I-need-everything-perfect-and-clean" person who cleans every 4 months or so.
And I think that is about it for our common room! I hope I gave a good description. Anyways, I have Defense Against the Dark Arts class soon, I have to go. Oh yes, even though it's Sunday today - my parents signed me up for EXTRA Defense Against the Dark Arts classes that normally happen late afternoon with about ten to twenty other students. Bye!
Grace
