Diary of a First-Year Hufflepuff

written by Grace Maple

It’s me, Grace. I’m a first-year Hufflepuff who likes to write my day at Hogwarts. I hope you find my diary interesting and enjoyable and I hope that future generation first-years will also learn as they go, just like I did. Many of these entries are based on actual events happening in my life, but obviously I twist the stories a little to make them more magical!

Chapter 15

Dear Diary,

I am currently studying in the library but decided to pull this diary out and add another entry. I just finished some History of Magic homework that was assigned to us. A textbook called "History Alive! The Ancient World of Magic" is sitting in front of me on a desk with an Arithmancy and Astronomy textbook under it. Now I have to start studying for my Astronomy AND Arithmancy exam that's coming up in about a week or so, and I don't feel ready at all! Please wish me luck. The concepts in both subjects have been getting so much harder, all I want is an "O" or "E" grade. I am just so scared that... that I will get an "A" or "P" grade, or even a "D"!!! I am practically terrified, which is truly why I need to study. Oh, I also have a Charms exam soon, but I'm not as scared of that as I am for the Astronomy and Arithmancy exam. I forgot to mention - we don't have classes for the next four days, which will give me extra time to study! Or not... because I won't have the professors to help me. I know you are tired of hearing me chit-chat about my dreadful and stressful life, and I must go study for exams. Goodbye.
