Despite Remus' pleas, Sirius spent every night searching for Peter Pettigrew. On November 17th, he finally found him and they had a yelling match in the middle of a muggle street until pettigrew chopped off his finger and blew up the street, transforming to run away. Aurors arrived on the scene to Sirius laughing and arrested him to no resistance.
