I was with my best friends, Stella and Kailey. We were telling scary stories, when our "frienemeny" , Brian, started chasing us. Once he left, we were talking when a girl came up to us and said we had powers. That we should join a group of magical people, the Elementers.
I was shocked; I partly thought she was joking... until she summoned a cat.

Now, I laugh that I was shocked. So do Stella and Kailey. We love using our powers, well, that is, Kailey and I. Stella still hasn't found her connection, or her element. That doesn't effect her from having fun, though. We all have fun, and laugh, and, play together, but I felt today was odder.

Less natural. 

"Can I tell you something?" Kailey asked. 

We were in the mini garden at out school after we got out of school.

"Sure!" Stella said as her "new" wavy hair lashed around her with the wind.

See, I say "new wavy hair" because it is the Spirit Week at our school; the week of Halloween. Yesterday, Stella put her hair in lots of braids since it was Crazy Hair Day, and her hair is now wavy and still dark red. 

"Okay, so yesterday, my brother-" "Manix." I cut in. "- he was yelling about how he didn't have a element or a connection and-"

She suddenly stopped. I listened closely and heard rustling. 

I stood up and l grasped my necklace, which was my special item I got for joining the Elementers. It was chain mail, black rings in between two colored rings, with four silver rings that were in between the two colored rings all around. 

The colored rings are: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and a purple-pink.

I got up and looked in the bushes that had a great climbing tree in the center. Wind chimes were next to the tree, but was surrounded by thorny bushes so you couldn't get to them. 

I saw that Stella and Kailey had gotten up too, and I noticed a squirrel in the tree. 

For a normal girl, non nature connection girl, everything would have been fine. But, squirrels are my greatest enemy. It may sound silly, but squirrels put curses on people the most. 

"What is goi-"

Suddenly, everything froze. Nothing was moving, speaking, or even showing any signs of life.

Except me.

And the squirrel.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing.." The squirrel said in the back of my mind. "I just froze time. Nothing to much." 

My knees buckled. "What do you want?" 

Oh, what I always want." The squirrel replied. "To curse me." I finished. I knew well enough about what squirrels did. 

Suddenly, I fell to my knees. A slash formed on my chest, oddly in the form of a flower necklace. Then, a flower necklace did come out. It was pink, with a pink gem in the center. 

The clash was still there.

I weakly lifted my arms and tried to pull the necklace off. The slash only grew bigger.

"Oh, I wouldn't try. " The squirrel laughed. "When you try to get the necklace off, the slash will only grow bigger until there is nothing left of you."

"What about people..." I gasped. "Oh, only people with a nature connection can see it. " The squirrel paused. "Think of it this way. You'll find people with a nature connection better!" 

Everything quickly unfroze.

"-ng on?" Kailey finished. 

The squirrel chittered, looked at me, and then ran off. 

I fell dead unconscious to the ground.
