How to become an expert ballerina

written by Oliwia Melody

Belly in! Ribs in! Shoulders down! Chin down! These are only some of the things your ballet teacher would say. This is not a book about magic but, one of my biggest passions are ballet. This book will be about how to become the greatest ballerina!

Getting higher: exams

Chapter 5

Exams can be very stressful and, I myself wrote this book after my grade 3 ballet exam. These tips should be enough for making sure that you pass your ballet exam!

1. Attend all classes

Make sure to attend all classes! If you miss a class just because you felt like it, you might have missed something very important!

2. Listen to your teachers advice

If your teacher gives you advice, remember it! Write it down, practice and all of those good marks will come to you immediately!

3. Practice

Practice every single day when you can. At school at breaks you can start revising these things in your head, just remember to revise all of your steps.

4. Stretch

Though this might seem stupid, it's actually very important! This is because stretching will help with all of your bends and stretches you have to do.

5. Make an exam journal

An exam journal is a journal, which says all the names of the weeks in a table. It then also says the name of the exercise your thinking about. Everyday write down how much you have practiced of that exercise.

6. Warm up before

Including all of your dances, you should properly warm up before starting the exam.

I hope all of this helps you in your exams!
