“Wow,” said Sophie the second she saw the other tunnel. “This is amazing.” There was a couch and there was a fridge. Sophie was still sad, she missed her parents.

“Sophie,” said Tom, “come see your new room.”

“O-o-okay,” said Sophie through sobs. She missed her parents and she was sure they missed her. Her new room was as big as her old house. With a king-sized bed and purple walls. This was too good to be true. She knew something was up.

“Supper time,” called Tom.

“Ok,” replied Sophie. She didn’t want to eat but she knew she had to. Even if she missed her parents she couldn’t starve herself. She walked down the stairs. Tom had a lot of explaining to do. Why was this ghost after her? Why did she have to stay hidden? Could she call her parents? So many questions and no answers. She would ask him all her questions when the time was right but for now, she would ask if she could call her parents.

“Tom can I call my parents or not,” asked Sophie

“You can call them once a week unless there’s an emergency,” replied Tom, “and if you go behind my back calling them more than once a week there will be consequences. Got it.”

“Yes,” replied Sophie. She was not afraid of Tom no matter what he did she would never hate him. But then she remembered what the darkness said or the voice. 

“Tom?” asked Sophie

“Yes,” replied Tom.

“Was Hailey there when you came to the tunnel?” Asked Sophie

“Yes. Why?” Replied Tom

“Someone knocked me out and there was a voice. It said If you want to make it out alive I suggest you cooperate or else you’ll end up like me. I didn’t know what it meant and I was scared. Was it Hailey?” Asked Sophie.

“Yes, Hailey knocked you out. When I found you I thought you were dead. I was about to go get someone when you woke up. I was so happy. Then you were all confused and scared.” replied Tom.

“I thought maybe it was you or someone else that was after me. Can I call my parents more than once today please? I need to tell them the rules and stuff,” asked Sophie. 

“Yes that's fine,” replied Tom.

“Okay thanks,” said Sophie and ran up to her room to call her parents. But then she heard Tom on the phone with someone.

He said, “I put a little poison in her meal soon she will be dead.” Sophie knew what she had to do. Once she got to her room she texted her parents. She said, “Tom is trying to kill me, I've gotta get out of here.”

Her parents replied, “Do you know where you are?”

“No,” replied Sophie, “all I know is that Haylee is a good person.”

“But Tom was so nice to you. How can he be trying to kill you?” asked her parents.

“I don't know? Got to go to Tom's. Call in five minutes.” replied Sophie. 

Tom knocks and says, “Sophie can I come in?”

“Yes,” replied Sophie. Tom comes in.

Tom askes, “weren't you going to call your parents?”

“Yes I`m just getting used to this phone,” replied Sophie.

“I was just coming to tell you I'm going to bed,” stated Tom.

“Okay. I think I’ll call my parents in the morning and go to bed too.” replied Sophie, “good night.”

“Good night,” replied Tom.So Sophie climbed into bed. Tom didn’t know she was going to sneak out.
