He's Back!
Chapter 1
"Oh my God! Mum! Dad! It's here! It's finally here!" You shouted, rushing through the door to the living room, holding your letter proudly in the air, waving it around like a flag. You had just received the most important thing in your entire life, and as a half-blood, getting your letter meant you were magic too! Your Mum smiled, looking up from her newspaper.
"We have a little witch honey, take after you she does," Your Mum says, tearing up slightly. You knew it would be emotional, being half-blood, you knew there was a 50/50 chance on if you would have magic yourself, but you had been showing signs the past month. Things were moving by themselves and things had disappeared and re-appeared, but there was no need to worry now, that letter meant you got to escape the ridiculous "reality" that is public high school.
"Come on! We have to get to the leaky Cauldron Immediately!" You smiled brightly, for an eleven-year-old, your energy almost represented a toddler. You Father smiled, looking at you, a calm expression on his face, waiting for you to take a breath.
"Well go get your coat on, otherwise we won't get there in time!" He said, standing up, along with your mother, to follow you into the corridor where all your belongings lay. You smiled, almost falling off the box you had to stand on to reach your stuff. Giddily, you rush your coat on and grab an apple from the fruit bowl below the mirror, running outside into the warm July air. In London, it was cold, even in Summer, was to be expected, and today was no surprise. You shivered as the cool air hit your rosy cheeks, shoving your somewhat small hands into your pockets in an attempt to warm them.
"Let's Go! We gotta get there quickly!" You said, jumping in the now unlocked car, almost dropping the pink apple as you sat in the middle seat. As your parents climbed in the front, either side, your mum driving, you took a deep bite of the apple in your hand, making a satisfying crunch, as you chewed through the delicious fruit.
It took a while to drive, or so you thought, to you, 25 minutes is an eternity when you want something to happen. You rushed out of the car as soon as you parked, the car almost scraping along the pavement as you opened it. You could barely hold your excitement. You rushed into the pub, Tom, The owner greeting you as usual. "Bowl o' ya favourite soup me dear?" He expressed, having known you most of his life due to your father being a wizard. You had spent a lot of time in there and all the faces looked familiar to you.
"Yes Please, Tom." Your father said politely, you tried to protest, a look of small disappointment painting your face.
"But daaaad! You promised! I need my stuff!" You whined, smacking your hands into sides in an attempt of intimidation but it was useless.
"Ah ah ah missy, you look like you barely ate breakfast," Tom said, walking from behind the bar and placing you into a chair that you still weren't quite tall enough to reach. "You best eat or we'll fall out," He said, placing a bowl in front of you. "Come on, eat up me dear, don't want you going hungry before you buy your stuff" He smiled, giving you a spoon. Your disappointment soon faded and you smiled picking up the spoon and scooping up the soup.
"Oh fine, but only because if I protest any longer, I won't have time to buy my stuff for Hogwarts" You smile, eating the spoonful of food before melting in it and the soup. "Yummy, Thank you, Uncle Tom!" You say.
He was an old family friend, so it was normal for you to call him that. You looked around the Familiar room, taking in the scent of food cooking, the faint smell of alcohol on people's breath from the beer, and the fire crackling in the center near the barrels. The soup was always your favourite part, it gave you comfort, but so did something else, you were looking around for someone, well some people, a pureblood family you had met last year. You had become great friends with Three of their sons, and vaguely with their daughter too, but she was probably too young to remember you. And you saw them, You took another bite and jumped out of the seat, running towards them as they walked in.
"Fred! George! Ron!" You exclaimed, running up to them, a big smile plastered on your face. Fred and George were twins, both Ginger, like the rest of the family, they had started Hogwarts last year, and that's why you had met them. The boys looked around in slight confusion before seeing you and smiling back.
"Blimey Y/N, nice to see you!" The twins said in unison, hugging you, you also hugged Ron, and saw the slightly taller ginger girl with them. "It's been ages," George said and your smile somehow got brighter, you hadn't seen them for a year and they remembered you. Ron was one year younger than you, and Ginny was two years younger. You had just been glad to make friends.
"I got my letter! I'm going to Hogwarts in September!" You said excitedly, a wide grin on your face, the twin got happy and congratulated you and Ron did too. "I never got to ask, what house did you get in, did you get into Gryffindor?!" You asked impatiently waiting for their answers.
"Yes Y/N, we got into Gryffindor" They smiled at your curiosity, hugging you again to calm you down. They had grown over the past year, so now they towered over you slightly.
"Well? What is it like? Is it magical? What are classes like? What are the teachers like? Did you pull off any Pranks? Get detention? What about-" You were cut off by George speaking after you were asking question after question.
"Bloody Hell Y/N, You're a giddy one aren't you" Causing him to smile down at you. "Hogwarts is in fact Magical, Classes are boring and fun, Some teachers are alright, Yes and Yes." He chuckled, before looking at Fred, expecting him to say something, and he did.
"He's right Y/N, you are curious, and he got those answers right. We were born on April First, It's like the stars aligned at that exact moment and deemed us the best damn prankers in all of Magical History. Bet they'll have a book of all the pranks we pull by the time we start our fourth year" He laughed, placing an arm on your shoulder. "Do you wanna come to get your uniform with us?" Fred asked and you looked at your parents.
You walked up to them, a hopeful look in your eyes. "Mum, Dad can I go and get my stuff with the Weasleys, Pleaaaaseeee" You drew out, and your parents sighed, pulling out a bag, full of golden coins. Your Father came from a kind, rich Pure-Blood family, and they were called Blood-traitors because they got along with muggles and muggle-borns.
"Off you go then, get some sweets from the remainder of the money," Your Father said, shooing you off back to your friends. You smiled and turned around, the bag of money in your hands.
"Well, don't just stand there, let's go!" You said, rushing towards the door. You tapped the bricks outside and the wall opened, revealing a long row of shops with carts outside. "Race you to Ollivanders, the last one there buys everyone else a chocolate frog!" You shouted. You had done this last year, and you had won, and in second was George, but the twins had gotten faster and rushed past you about 5 seconds into running. You sighed at your defeat, catching your breath as you reached the shop, hands on your knees to stop you from doubling over at the lack of air in your lungs. Godric, you guys got faster" You said, smiling at them, finally standing straight.
"Guess it was the constant walking around at school, there are loads of staircases," George commented, patting you in the shoulder to get you to feel a bit better after being outrun, unlike last year.
"And they all move!" Fred added on, looking at the door. "You ready Y/N?" He asked you, opening the door to the shop. You stepped inside taking a deep breath before sighing.
"As I'll ever be" You commented, walking inside the shop properly and taking in the smell of old wood. Your very first wand! You could barely contain your excitement or your nervousness. What if one didn't choose you, what if you never got a wand. You pushed the feelings down and walked to the counter. "Hello?" You spoke out and a man, in purple with a scraggly beard and white hair greeted you.
"Welcome Miss. Y/L/N."
