Chapter 4
I ran through the halls, and out the door with a couple of doctors trying to follow me. They didn’t know where I lived, also I could outrun them easily. they were yelling for me, but it got fainter and fainter until I couldn’t hear them at all. I arrived home and started packing my belongings in a backpack. I packed my mom’s necklace, dad’s baseball cap, clothes, a water bottle, my laptop, phone, and a blanket. I also packed $30 for the road. Then, I locked the door to the house, and threw my key into the nearest dumpster. Finally, I started to run.
I ran past my friend’s house, the hospital, and the grocery store until I arrived at a gas station. Behind the gas station was the woods. My eyes lit up. I casually walked in the gas station and started looking around for useful items for my “trip.” I found a flashlight, tons of snacks, a couple bottles of water, and a lighter. I went up and paid for my items. When I was done, I had no money left. I walked out of the gas station, and ran into the woods.
While I was in the woods, a squirrel started chasing me, and I fell into a bush of something that I was sure was poison ivy. It hurt like hell, but I really didn’t care; all I wanted was to find shelter, because it was getting dark, my stomach was growling, and the sky was promising rain. Finally in the distance I spotted a house. I sprinted towards it.
