Hinkypunks

Hinkypunks are most commonly found in Europe. They have no classification and as there is no description of them in Newt Scamander’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, they are often thought of as being a spirit rather than a beast. While they can be dangerous, they prefer to revel in simply inconveniencing people, magical and non-magical. They lure travellers off of their course and into treacherous wetlands or bogs. Hinkypunks can shoot fireballs from their lamps that can cause great damage. They also sometimes emit a loud hollering or grunting noise.
