Redcaps are sentient creatures and are classified as being XXX. They are native to Northern Europe. Redcaps are a danger to anyone who enters their home, especially those that are lost. In the event of an attack, they will bludgeon the person to death. It is suspected that they are related to goblins, though there is no definite proof of this.

3-4 feet tall
Green skin

Long, sharp fingernails

Various types of plants(Mainly roots). Typically, only in the winter months and when their normal prey is scarce.
Habitat
Redcaps like to reside anywhere that blood has been shed. This can be within a dungeon, old battlefields, holes in the ground, or even a garden. It doesn’t matter what caused the bloodshed, only that it happened. The Wizarding Schools Potions Championship takes place in an enchanted garden. The competition is held inside of the houses that reside in this garden. These houses are overrun with redcaps.
