Let Me Go-Still Working On It

written by Liv Brownie <3

(Tell me if you want me to make this into an actual long book) Thana Syers is a 15 year old girl and... she's not "normal". She can't control her dangerous powers and she pushes away everyone so they won't get hurt. She still goes to school, just so that she seems normal but she keeps her distance...but... one boy could change that... I will still be adding more.

Chapter 4: Future Seconds

Chapter 4

I glance at the clock and close my eyes for a second. At first I see pitch black but then an image swarms my head. The clock's hands are seconds away from 2 o' clock and once the longer hand hits the top of the clock a loud blaring bell rings through the room. Footsteps tramble over each other as students rush out of the room.

I open my eyes again and look at the clock. It's 1:52 still but maybe if I just... No! I just used one of my powers right now and I can't risk it. Using another would be risky. I look around the class again and see nothing but bored students. Still it would be risky to-

"Mr. Bass would you please answer question number 13 on the board please."

I peak around the room and find Leon Bass tipping in his chair chewing on some gum. He smirks at the teahcer, Mr. Vac and gets up from his chair. He stares at the board and runs his hand through his dirty blonde hair. He writes a number and sits back down, tipping his chair again. The teahcer shook his head and turns back to the class.

"Can anyone tell me what the square root of 650?" he looks around the room to a stiff classroom as students exchange looks. "No? Nobody can tell me a simple question. How about the square root of 300? If you were paying attention you would remember this since I said it at the begining of class."

Everyone sat still and I could tell nobody knew the answer.

"Well then I expect a written essay on how to figure out the square root of 580, 295, 650, and 300 to turn in first thing tomarrow. Unless... someone can answer my question." He walked back to his desk and started handing out papers.

I knew I was going to regret it but I raised my hand. Nobody noticed at first, too busy groaning and complaining about the new homework assignment, but then the teacher got to my desk and spotted my raised hand.

"Uhm what is it Miss...?". Everyone turned to stare at me.

"The square root of 650 is 25.495097568 and the square root of 300 is 17.3205080757."

Mr. Vac hurried over to his desk and flipped through his notes then turned back over to the class. He seemed flustered as he said, "Um yes that is- that is correct." Everyone just stared at me and I knew I shouldn't have done it but... later that day I'd to go to my father's grave. It was now 3 years since he died and I've tried to keep it a tradition to visit his resting place every year annyversary, birthday, and holiday. It made the pain worse which was another reason I do it.
