Chapter Two- Hyde Your Suspicions
Chapter 3
Alexander runs under the police tape and into the college. Thankfully the doors remained unlocked. He stumbled up the stairs and gets back to the lab he was using. Slamming and locking the door behind him. He sat against the door, trying to catch his breath when he heard knocking on the other side.
"Go. Away." He calls to the other side.
"I just want to talk, I saw that, what transformation?" Auburn's muffled voice said back.
"I say we finish this." "Damien, don't." "Aw c'mon. Why not? She's already implicating you in the murder." Auburn heard the voices again, two people, despite Alexander being the only one in the lab. "Damien, please don't." "Too late, already doing it." Auburn heard him get away from the door, as if now laying on the ground. She heard something she didn't want to think about before whoever it was stood and unlocked the door. She took a pace back from the door as a now younger teenager stood before her.
"Who, what, the hell?" She stammered, the kid looked to be about 16, shorter, and wearing Alexander's clothing, clearly too big. The sleeves on the lab coat now reaching past his hands.
"Damien Hyde, a pleasure to formally meet you outside of Alexander's eyes." He smiled and put his hand out. "We never caught your name."
"I never threw it." Auburn shook her head, crossing her arms, "What is this, some kind of prank?"
"Hmmm, I like her, don't you Alex? In any case, no prank, just Alex's bullshit mad scientist experiments. In all honesty he was better off being aborted." He shrugged and put his hands in his pockets. "Now, you saw nothing, you heard nothing, you never saw me, and I never saw you, I'm Alex's assistant, you are on crack, got it?"
"What?"
"I'm telling you to delete the video, neither of us are the killer you want answers for, but Hyde is not the name of someone who takes the high road. And my bat doesn't much care for a guilty verdict." He got into Auburn's face. Looking her dead in the eye, his smile had disappeared. "Are we clear?"
"Crystal."
"Good." He pushed Auburn out of the way and shook of the lab coat, now wearing a black and white band tee-shirt, some emo, goth, punk whatever that Auburn didn't recognize. "So you around, Auburn Holmes."
"How- how did you know my name?" Auburn looked back at him. He turned and faced her, taking a couple steps backwards.
"Like your ancestor, I pride myself on knowing things. And there aren't really alot of fame seeking horse piss 'detectives' in this town. There's what, 100 people total?"
"110 actually." She said quietly. Balling her fists
"Ah shucks guess you are the true detective." He shrugged and turned back around, his hands back in his pockets, he walked down the stairs, leaving Auburn alone.
