And so they talked. They talked about their families, interests and all sorts of other things. They discovered that they both loved Quidditch. Draco actually laughed out loud when Ginny told him how she stole her brothers’ broomsticks to practice. 

They talked about classes and their favourite professors, and when Draco found out that Ginny was terrified of Professor Snape, he was determined to use his influence as Snape’s godson to help, which made Ginny giggle.

Ginny and Draco talked for hours. It was already dark and the common room was empty apart from them, when they parted to go to sleep.

“You know Draco, I don’t think you’re really as bad as my brothers make out. You’ve been a lot nicer to me than some of the Gryffindors.”

He gave her a small smile. “You’re not as bad as my father makes out either.”

“Have a good sleep Draco.”

“You too. Goodnight Weas- Ginny.”

And for the first time in months, Ginny went to bed feeling happy. Truly.
