Chapter 6 : Extra tips :)

Chapter 6

Hello there! I see you are thirsty. Thirsty for extra tips, don't get me wrong! Before we get started, I would like to say : all info here is suggested in the fabulous diary of HERMIONE GRANGER.

Tip 1: Be friendly to everyone

Basically, smile and chin up! Be confident and happy. Do not let others affect you. One of the regrets Hermione had at hogwarts was being an annoying know-it-all. Try to keep it in and correct people once in a while when it is absolutely necessary. If you want new students to know you are smart and quirky, then go up to them after class and with a smile and say, "Hello, (their name), I'm (your first and last name), and I'm here if you need any help with work. I can help you choose the right path to go for learning the work of the world." and hold out your hand to shake theirs. That student can count on you.

Tip 2: Carry a book with you

I think many should know Hermione is always seen with a book under her arm. Any book would be fine, as long as you are able to read it and understand the content. Do try to read some non-fiction books like history of Hogwarts, town, country, religion, etc. For fiction, try the classics, or realistic fiction, Hermione would read the most realistic books. You can get an old fashioned book bag that can be tan or light brown. Sling it over your shoulder when carrying it.

Tip 3: Take subjects that you find challenging

Hermione does that all the time. She takes more challenging and varied subjects than others, however the result is that she comes out with a well-rounded knowledge. Subjects like Arithmancy are those that others find difficult. Hermione, however, thought it was interesting.

Tip 4: Try to aim for straight A's

This is covered mainly in chapter 5. Doing your homework, studying for tests weeks in advance, doing extra credit assignments, and finishing projects on time helps with your studies. Hermione studies whenever she gets the chance. In class, raise up your hands when a question is being asked. You want your teacher to say, "anyone else besides (your name)?" Hermione would be delighted that the teacher would say that.

Tip 5: Think logically and with reason

Hermione has a scientific mind. She thinks logically rather than simply through magic which is important in deducing problems. She never accepts things without solid facts or evidence which is why she has difficulty engaging in divination.

Tip 6: Stand up for everything and anything you believe in

If you think the school lunches are detrimental to the student body's health, speak out about it and try to incorporate fresher, greener foods into the mix. You can do this by going in the lunch line and saying, "You know, I would like to have a word with you after lunch if you have the time" and see what they say. Or if you are interested in helping with genocide, start a club. Hermione started S. P. E. W. to promote elf rights. Don't be afraid to speak up. Always think of some way you can make your school or a place a better place.

Tip 7: Never let your friends down

Always stick up for them and help them with their work. Never just give them the answers though, Hermione would never do that! Help them like a teacher would, and after, even if the student didn't say thank you, say (in a loud and harsh voice) "You're welcome!" and smile just a little to show that you're joking. They will get the idea.

Tip 8: Wear comfortable clothes that also look neat and presentable

In the Deathly Hallows, Hermione was wearing a white collared shirt under a striped blue and black long sleeve shirt. On top she wore a navy blue sweater with it unbuttoned at the top. This type of clothing shows you know the rules and dress code. Try layering things like a button-down collared shirt underneath a sweater, or a simple white blouse with a blush-colored cardigan. Simple Polo shirts are also very comfortable and flexible, while still looking put-together and studious, and Hermione would choose something like that. Try to show people that you know the dress code, stay comfortable and look smart. Don't really worry about your hair or clothes too much, as long as you look together. Don't dress inappropriately, if you wear crop tops, too much makeup and very low-cut dresses you will not be taken as seriously as someone dressed in a more toned-down fashion.
