Chapter 2 : Being active in classes
Chapter 2
Previously, I covered the topic of being a bookworm and a know-it-all. Now, I will move on to talking more on how you can be participative in classes and lessons. You don't exactly have to do whatever I say but you can take them into consideration.
Asking questions :
My sister raises her hands and waits to be called however urgent she wants to answer a question. She is respectful, another tip to being like her. The Hermione Granger I know never ask questions - she understands and knows everything like the back of her wand. You can clarify any questions with teacher, but try to reduce the number of questions you ask the teacher as Hermione wouldn't want to seem like she does not understand or know about things. Be active in groups and chats. If you are more like me, anti-social and quiet, you might want to try to answer a question once or twice when you can in class. Take a step out. Enjoy it. Enjoy being the know-it-all. If you are not confident of your answer, do not raise up your hand. Nevertheless, you can attempt the question. Try your best.
Taking notes and being attentive :
Make sure to have your quill and ink right beside you during lessons - as well as your wand (if needed). Take down important points (will be covered on how to do so in chapter 3) in classes. Most importantly, follow all instructions and do not act before a demonstration is given. In Charms and DADA, wand is needed the most. Make sure to listen carefully to your respective professors, so as to not injure or harm yourself. Especially in these lessons, you can take down the incantations and the wand movements of the spells so you would remember and you would have notes to revise on before examinations. For other subjects, for e.g. Herbology, you can take down some plants you have learnt during the lessons and how to handle them. In general for all lessons, you should take down the takeaway of each lessons. Doing this will help you to better regconise and remember your learning points.
Pay full attention to the teachers and ignore kids who talk to you during class if they're not supposed to. Shush them real big and keep your eyes on the teacher. Turn a little so you're not facing them. After class, go up to them and say in a rushed voice, "It's not worth getting in trouble during an important lesson to talk about video games!" and prance away.
All in all, keep confident and enjoy your classes! Then you shall excel in them :)
