We are halfway towards the valley when I hear a voice come out of nowhere. "Hey you, hold it right there!" gordo whips out his knives and looks around bearing his teeth to find the source of the voice A dark skinned man is dressed in metal armor, with spikes protruding from the shoulder plates. He holds a 10mm submachine gun in his hands, and a small rifle lays on his back "you there." he points the gun at me. " hand over all the caps you got and i might let you roam free." gordo, with perfect accuracy throws one of his knives and the blunt end hit the man on the head knocking him out "where'd ya learn to do that?!" I ask, as I examine the raider. "What do you think I have been doing for the past 23 years?" As I examine the man further I take his 10mm submachine gun, and a few bullets for it. "Ok, let's keep walking." I say. "no" says gordo "stay the night, we can take shifts watch "he might know things we don't"
"fair enough." I say. I take the rifle, a single shotgun, and hand it to gordo. " do you know how to use one of these?" I ask. "of course" says gordo "my shift first, rest"
I pull out my sleeping bag and lay it down as the sun disappears over the horizon and night falls. gordo watches the man for hours until its midnight and he goes to wake his partner "ughh" I mutter as gordo shakes me awake. "Is the other guy awake?" "not yet" gordo said lying down and gordo fell asleep I slowly awaken from my sleeping bag and sit down in the dirt as I watch the unconscious body of the man. Suddenly, after an hour or so, he starts to stir and i quickly draw my 9mm “what the....uggh” the man says as he stirs from unconsciousness. I awaken gordo to inform him. yawns "what is it?" gordo asks "is he awake?" "yes, he's just starting to stir..." gordo looks over and hops up walking over to the man "who are you"
"ugghh...... I'm not answering to a f*cking lizard man" the man says, now tied up in a thin rope. gordo growls "you don't want me on your bad side f*cker, it was my idea to let you live but i can easily take that back" he pulls out his knives and points them in between the man's eyes "Christ, you gecko, fine!" The man screeches. "what do you wanna know?"
"First, do you have any accomplices?" gordo says not lowering his knives
"no, I don't!" says the man.
"Then what's your goal?" gordo slowly lowers the knives
"i'm just trying to make a living out here; it's a harsh place!"
"because of you." gordo turns to his partner Ted "get rid of him, I don't care how" he smiles and walks over to the camp to pack up Ted picks up his 9mm and points it at the man. "please no, i'll do anything, just please don't kill me!" the man screech "hold it" gordo turns to look at the man "like what?" he asks "I don't know, I am a pretty good shot..." the man says as his voice quivers. "then come with us" gordo walks over to the man and unties him "try anything funny and i'll show you how good of a shot I am" he held up his knives and grinned "Thank you, thank you!" the man exclaims, and goes to pick up his shotgun. "Come on, time to move" as the man tries to get behind them, "stay in front!" gordo yelled "By the way, what's your name?" asks ted. "Joshua," the man replies.
"Let's get back on the road." they spend hours walking along the path until they get to a marshy swamp "you see that?" Ted asks. "Those are green geckos. "nasty if you invade their territory."
"you said you were a good shot josh, kill them” gordo snorts "better you than us" Joshua strays from the path and slowly sneaks up behind one of the stray geckos, then fires a single shot from his shotgun. The creature's head blows off, and the body drops to the slimy ground. "get the others, we'll set up camp here"
Suddenly the geckos start to notice Joshua, and a few lunge at him. "I have training in this stuff!" he shouts over the geckos' screeching sounds. And sure enough, one by one, the geckos fall to the ground. ted and gordo set up camp and when all the geckos are dead josh joins them gordo ties josh up and once again they take shifts watching him during the night "oh come on! is this really necessary?" Joshua asks
"yes" gordo says, it was his turn to watch josh and josh, in his opinion wouldn't shut up. he paced around him and he heard something, someone said "haaaaaaa" and crashed into him, he heard the thump as he hit the slimy floor and then, black.
