Seen in Diagon Alley (Knockturn Alley)
Prefers living in a cave than in civilization
Eat children (mainly) and raw liver
Sentient beings
Ugly, old looking, pale skin, four toes feet, lot of warts
Rudimentary magic (like trolls)
Muggle version of a witch
Known hags :
Annis Black : late 20th century, in a cave in Deadmarsh England. Wrote to the Daily Prophet to complain about their description of hags (flesh-eating monsters)
Babayaga : medival times in Russia, in a hut that stood on chicken legs. Ate children for breakfast (also for lunch and tea time)
Cordelia Misericordia : 1298-1401. Represented hags at the 14th century Wizards’ Council's summit
Ghosts
Disembodied spirit of a dead wizard or witch (afraid of death, strong connection to haunting place)
Trapped in the living world
Grey/silver, transparent apparition
No physical influence but causes disturbances in fire (may turn blue), water and air (temperature drop)
Weightless, undestrucable, can be petrified
Celebrate deathday with a partry with rotten food (pretend they can taste it by flying through it)
Cause of death is a sensitive subject
Government holds control over ghosts (Spirit Division)
Kwnown ghosts :Sir Nicholas De Mimsy-Porpington (Nearly Headless Nick) : Gryffindor ghost. Head not fully cut off. Friendly.
The Fat Friar : Hufflepuff ghost. Portly, jolly.
The Bloody Baron : Slytherin ghost. Robes stained with blood. Able to control Peeves. Unsocial and creepy except for Slytherin students.
Helena Ravenclaw : Ravenclaw house. Daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw. Timid, good relationship with Ravenclaw students. Helpful if lost or mislaid something.
