After Noah's First Year
Chapter 5
Noah celebrated when he arrived home from Platform 9 3/4. Now, he did have to get to talk to his parents about having them sign a permission slip so Noah could go to Summer Camp this year at Hogwarts. The dangers he felt seemed to never come, as they tend to appear when Wally and Theodore were at home. The chills never seemed to appear as they did when Billy was here.
Weren't they on the Hogwarts Express home? Noah had a slight paranoid panic attack that never seemed to appear. His brothers could've gone missing because of an issue. But yet, he decided to suck it up and walk straight towards his house. The one story, four roomed house was looking small, as it always did. The brick walls of the exterior slowly magnified. The raggedy door barely held on to the hinges.
For a pureblooded family, even if they adopted everyone from pureblooded families, they seemed to be running low on money. The galleons or sickles it took to repair the house never showed. Gary and Steve walked outside of the ragged, barely held on door, and waved hello to Noah.
"Hello Noah! For a second there, I almost forgot that you were the only one coming home earlier than your brothers." Gary said with a slight interesting tone. Noah looked at him with a curious expression but it seemed like Gary wouldn't say anything to him. A surprise it must be.
"Your Head of House told me that you had something you wanted me to sign. Well, me and your father, but that depends on whether you'd be comfortable with us allowing you to go." Steve said with a smirk, well, a smirk that's appropriate for the moment. Noah just smiled, and held out a permission slip to attend camp. He knew his dads would have to accompy him on the ride to camp.
"Hey, uh, dads, um. I have to have someone to take me to camp. It's mandatory. Or well, to drop me off at Kings Cross Station. Will one of you go with me?" Noah said with a slight hopefulness that his dads would sign the permission slip and take him to King Cross Station.
"Hey son. Just let me look over this parchment for a few minutes. So, in the meantime, why dont you settle down. Unpack. Pack up some new clothes. I will say, your father, Steve, did buy you another crimson cape. You do have a new dark blue headband that I bought for several galleons. So please, take care of them if you go to camp." Gary said, grinning with all of his might. His eyebrows still burrowed.
Noah said, with a nod, "Yes Sir! Thank you both so much! I enjoy your generous spirits." Noah took off into the kitchen, grabbing a piece of cheese, not paying attention to the type it is. The only thing he noticed, was that the cheese was yellowish white. He took a small chunk of it and put the rest back into the refrigerator for his siblings.
Taking a walk through the next room, his parents bedroom. His dads had a queen sized bed, but the sheets on it was a paper thin green and yellow plaid fabric covering the bed. Their pillows painted yellow and green to match the bed sheets. Noah looked up at the cracked light fixtures, far too cracked to even tell what it is, or what it was. The only thing revealing that it was a light fixture, was that light was shining through it. The lines ran up the wall, telling Noah that something must've happened in the house, or to the house because those weren't there when he left for Hogwarts.
He took one step into the next room. It was his brothers room as well as his. The green color cloaked Barry's bed. The handmade snake lamp laid next to him, hovering. He slept on the top bunk in the far left corner of the room. The room was only 80 square feet. So his bed wouldn't have been very big, or very far from the others, but the room was indeed bigger than his parent's and the kitchen.
Blue cloaked Timmy's, Billy's, and Wally's bed. For their cunningness, but brilliance, they were each rewarded with an envelope on their bed, which Noah suspected to have a galleon or so in the envelope. Where is the money coming from if the family couldn't afford to buy a ton of things? Johnny's bed was drenched with yellow and black, to support the Hufflepuffs. Besides his dad, Gary,
Johnny was the only other Hufflepuff like Barry was the only other Slytherin besides Steve. A handmade trophy was placed on his bed, along with a card that said, "I love you Johnny, and I'm glad that someone in this family made it to Hufflepuff. I am so proud of you, and I know that you have such a history of kindness, and reporting what needs to be reported. So for that reason, I reward you with the trophy of love."
Now for his least favorite sibling, Theodore was placed into Gryffindor. So his bed was, as well, placed above Noah. He had a history of ruining Noah's work, so why would Noah want to sleep below him when he could do anything to Noah from above? On Theodore's bed was muggle currency, Noah noticed it immediately. It was three Pounds lying on his younger brother's pillow.
Noah crouched down below Theodore's bed. Hating that he was the shortest in the family, and yet the bunk beds were short as well. The house wasn't tall either. On Noah's bed, laid a Crimson Cape and a Dark Blue Headband. Noah shed a few tears, glad that his brothers weren't there to pick on him. His spirit seemed to rise as he put on his cape and headband. There was no other way of feeling happier. He grinned as he unpacked his bags while his new outfit remained on him. His underwear, shorts, jeans, t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and his unique Gryffindor robe. He put it in the bathtub, which was in a separate room from the house.
Walking outside to the bathtub, he appeared into the Outhouse which was jinxed into being internally expanded. It had a small bathtub meant for washing the clothes and drying them quickly, and a toilet which is meant for what you know. After scrubbing each of his outfits he had, he folded them neatly and repacked his bag, adding a few stacks of his face, iron on faces. Noah smiled, clearly liking how they looked. He wanted to hand them out at camp if it was possible, but it had to be achieved by sneaking it into other camper's bags. Hopefully Noah could go, as he hated getting his hopes up and his dads telling him no. He walked into the living room, and said hello to his parents.
"And now you sign here Steve. I dont want to tell him quite yet as I want to have a final meal with him before he leaves for summer camp." Gary said, whispering a little too loudly for Noah to hear.
"Wait- you mean? I GET TO GO TO SUMMER CAMP?" Noah smiled with a deep grin arising. 'I LOVE YOU GUYS! THANK YOU!"
"Not so fast! I just have to finish signing this first, then you are to put your stuff in the car, then we will have a final meal before you leave for yet another year." Steve said winking.
"Perfect! Thank you both so very much! I love you two! Also, when my brothers get here, can you tell them where I am, and if they wish to tell me something, they can send a letter to Platform 9 3/4? I will probably be reading them before I get onto the train. Wait- can we possibly have lamb stew?" Noah asked, in a puzzling expression.
"Don't you worry your pretty little head about it, your daddies will take care of it for you. And yes, we can do Lamb Stew for our meal. Your siblings will be here in about two hours, so you have about an hour and fourty five minutes to adjust to the schedule. In about forty five minutes, our meal will be ready. Enjoy your time at home for the time being, go talk to your muggle friend, do your muggle homework, practice some spells. Do what you can and me and Steve can help you out." Gary said, a tear already forming in his eyes.
"Thank you daddy. Let me just give my muggle friend my muggle homework of the year to give to Mrs. Snider, my homeroom teacher." Noah walked outside the small house surrounded by apartment buildings of a sort. He walked over to the building left of his house and knocked on number 430. His friend came out. "Hey Mario! How are you? Uh- I can't talk for very long, but I got homework from the entire school year to turn in. From what I understand, tomorrow is your last day at the school for the year. Can you give this stack to Mrs. Snider?'
The blonde boy smiled, before frowning. "You want me to carry this entire stack of papers BACK to school? There must be like a million! Look Noah, I miss you and all, and I will turn your work back in, but I am not wanting you to be alone for the rest of the summer. Are you staying this entire summer?"
"Um, Mario. I appreciate you returning my stack of papers to Mrs. Snider, but I am truly sorry about this summer, but I won't be able to play or stay with you this summer. I have a summer camp to attend. My dads wanted me to attend a cooking camp, just so I can become a Chef in the future and help supply my family with some money if needed. Again, I'm sorry Mario." Noah said, regretfully saying bye to his friend for the summer. The one who wanted to spend time with him. Mario was a friend who helped keep the muggle bullies away from him, but it seemed to be very unsuccessful.
Noah walked back to the house, the lamb stew ready. He sat down with his dads and used his wooden fork to stab the meat and to eat it. Unfortunately, the Lamb stew didnt have anything else in it besides water and lamb meat. But nevertheless, it was delicious like he thought it would. Goodbye meals seem to be the best kind to eat. "The lamb stew was good, um. I have a question. Its now fifteen minutes before my brothers arrive, so, uh, can Steve drive me?"
"Of course son. We will both miss you. Now come on, lets go! Steve drove Noah and all of his items to Kings Cross Station. Stopping outside of Kings Cross Station, he dropped off Noah and all of his items. Now waiting for the boys to come. He advised Noah to stay as close as possible to the walls of the station so his brothers don't overwhelm him.
"Bye dad! Tell my brothers to write me! And if Henry Knight asks, please remind him that I am at summer camp at Hogwarts."
