The Crystal Stall
Chapter 5
"Y/n, come here," Fred says, dragging me away from Cedric.
"What?" I ask.
"Well, uh, you... you need your bag!" Fred says, pushing my bag into my hands.
"Thanks?"
"All right! Come on then! Let's get to our tent!" Mr Weasley says, walking into the large field of tents.
"Here we are!" Mr Weasley grins at a tent which had a sign hammered in front of it with the name 'WEEZLY'.
"Right! In we go then!" Mr Weasley says, crawling into the tent. I crawled in after Fred and stood up to see the tent had more than tripled in size.
"Cool," I breathed, looking around the tent.
"Y/n! Come with us!" Harry yelled, grabbing my arm, "We're going to get some water."
"Okay," I nod, following Harry, Ron and Hermione out the tent.
After a couple minutes of walking, all I see is green.
"Er - is it my eyes, or has everything gone green?" Ron asks.
It wasn't just Ron's eyes. We had walked into a patch of tents, all covered with a thick growth of shamrocks, so it looked as though oddly shaped hillocks had sprout out of the earth. Then from behind us, we heard our names.
"Harry! Ron! Y/n! Hermione!"
It was Seamus Finnigan, he was sitting in front of his own shamrock-covered tent, with a sandy haired woman who had to be his mother, and his best friend Dean Thomas.
"Like the decorations?" Seamus grinned, "The ministry's not too happy."
"Ah, why shouldn't we show our colours?" said Mrs Finnigan, "You should see what the Bulgarians have got dangling all over their tents. You'll be supporting Ireland of course?" she added, eyeing the four of us beadily. When we assured her that we were indeed supporting Ireland, we begun to walk again.
"I'll go back to our tent," I tell Harry, before strolling off.
"Where are the others?" George asks me as I crawl into the tent.
"Getting water," I say, sitting down on his bed.
"Still?" George says.
"Mhm."
"Y/n! We should go look at the stalls!" Fred says, running up to me.
"Sure." I reply.
"Did I do something wrong?" Fred asks, as we begin strolling through tents, towards the stalls.
I let out a big sigh, "No. You did nothing. Just something I overheard."
Fred stops walking, before reaching out his hand and grabbing mine.
"If this is about what I said to George, I'm sorry! I was just so upset! I was grumpy and George knows how much you mean to me! Well, your opinion, and in attempt to calm me down he used your name, but I didn't want to admit that that could actually calm me! And then I heard a creak from the stairs! And I immediately felt guilty! And then I - "
I began to smile, "Fred. Thank you." I say, swinging our arms in the air as we continue to walk.
"So...you..forgive me?" Fred asks.
"I forgive you," I smile.
"Thank Merlin! I would've cried if you didn't," Fred says as I laugh. "No I'm being honest!"
"Look!" I grin, pointing towards a stall with hanging beads and vines. "A crystal stall!"
And within seconds I'm dragging Fred towards the stall.
"Good day," says the woman at the stall.
"Good day," I grin, looking from the different shapes of crystals.
"Wicked," I hear Fred whisper to himself, picking up a Smoky Quartz.
"That's Smoky Quartz, it's one of my favourites." I smile as Fred places it back down.
"What do you do with this stuff?" Fred asks.
"Meditate," I shrug, picking up a necklace, that had a Rose Quartz tied to it.
"That one's pretty," Fred says, pointing towards the necklace in my hands.
"Rose Quartz," I nod.
"What does it do?"
"It attracts a large quantity of universal love, whatever that means to you," I explain.
"What do you mean 'to me?"
"Maybe you want it to heal your broken heart, or help you find a perfect lover, maybe you want to use it to illuminate dark parts of your life with a little love. Those are only a few things Rose Quartz does, it's also known as the crystal of unconditional love." I say.
"Let's get a necklace each, then!" Fred smiles, picking up another Rose Quartz necklace and trying it on. I just stand there, dumbfounded, until I feel my cheeks grow warm.
"What?" I say.
"Unconditional love? Let's get one each so we can match!" Fred grins before picking up an Amethyst, "You reckon we'll be able to wear them with our uniform? Then everyone can see! What's this purple crystal? It'll look good on you. Purple goes well with your eyes."
I look away for a couple seconds to get myself back together. 'Why'd that make me feel so.. weird?' I shake off the thought and turn back to Fred.
"Alright," I smile.
"You two are the cutest couple I've ever seen," the woman in the stall smiles.
"Oh no! We're just friends." I say, placing two necklaces onto the counter.
"Yeah," Fred grins, placing three Amethyst's beside the necklaces. "What does that say?" he asks, pointing to a stainless steel ring, with words written in Arabic on it.
"Oh this? It says 'secret lovers'," the woman smiles, leaning on the counter.
"Oh.." Fred says, "Well then...How much for these?" he asks, pointing towards the crystals and necklaces.
"Eighty six dollars and ninety nine cents," the woman says. "But, for the two of you? I'll go sixty four dollars and a wedding invitation."
"What?" Fred asks, clearly clueless to the fact that the woman was speaking in muggle money currency.
I begin scrambling through my bag before pulling out a 50 dollar note and placing it on the counter, then I toss all the coins I have in front of the lady.
"Five dollars short," the woman says.
"This is a five dollar bill, right?" Fred says, handing me a ten.
"No, that's a ten," I say before putting it on the counter.
"Here's your change," the woman smiles.
"Thank you!" Fred grins, placing the five dollar bill into his pocket before taking the paper bag off the counter and dragging me away.
"Here," Fred says, putting the necklace over my head.
"Thank you," I smile.
"Now you do me," he grins, bending down slightly so I could place the necklace on him.
"Alright," and with that we walked back to our tent, where everyone was probably waiting.
