Spell : The Wand-Lighting Charm
Incantation : Lumos (LOO-mos)
Wand Movement: A counter-clockwise loop
Concentration : Low - lighting up the tip of your wand
Willpower : Low
Spell : The Wand-Extinguishing Charm
Incantation : Nox (NOCK-ss)
Wand Movement: A flick of the wand
Concentration : None
Willpower : None
Types of Dark Arts
- Dark spells
- Dark potions
- Dark creatures
- Dark Artefacts
- Dark practices
Three Spell Categories
- Jinx
- First and lowest level of Dark spells
- Will not cause much harm
- Considered to be more of a minor irritation than a serious problem
- Can be used as a distraction
- Will not cause any lasting damage.
- Hex
- Second level of Dark spells
- A bit darker than the jinx
- Will do more lasting damage than jinxes
- Have effects that cause more damage to the target and are viewed as major inconveniences that cause a moderate amount of suffering.
- Can be reversed by using a Hex Breaker.
- Curse
- Third and final level of Dark spells
- Darkest and most dangerous type of spell
- Usually cast with the intent to severely harm or potentially even kill the target.
- Often discouraged unless absolutely necessary
