Chapter 33
Against your orders, the Minister for Magic sics a Dementor on the Death Eater, preventing him from giving the evidence that could back up Harry's story, which he categorically refuses to believe. In addition, he has articles written in the Daily Prophet, the most widely read of the wizarding journals, questioning your veracity and Harry's as well. Worst of all, he appoints his Undersecretary Dolores Umbridge as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, and she refuses to teach her students how to defend themselves. In response, Hermione persuades Harry to teach them himself, forming a clandestine group, which they call Dumbledore's Army, for the purpose.
Meanwhile Harry is beginning to have strange dreams in which he sees things from Voldemort's perspective, a result of the link between his soul and Voldemort's that was forged by Voldemort's attack on him when he was a baby. You fear that Voldemort may use this link to Harry's detriment, and you decide that Harry should learn Occlumency to block Voldemort from his mind. You are the best person to teach Occlumency, but you also fear that any contact between you and Harry could be used by Voldemort to force you to kill Harry in the hope of killing Voldemort as well. Accordingly you have been avoiding all contact with Harry, making Harry increasingly angry with both you and the rest of the world. The only other person who could teach Occlumency is Professor Snape, but Snape and Harry hate each other; so the lessons could go badly.
If you choose to teach Occlumency to Harry yourself, turn to Chapter 34.
If you choose to ask Snape to teach Occlumency to Harry, turn to Chapter 38.
