Chapter 18

During your long and distinguished career as Hogwarts Headmaster, you take an interest in the students who pass through your school, especially one Hermione Granger, the daughter of two Muggle dentists and one of the most brilliant students ever to have studied at Hogwarts, the only blemish on her academic record being a grade of Exceeds Expectations in Defense Against the Dark Arts.  Upon graduation she marries an undistinguished student by the name of Ronald Weasley.  Your interest in Hermione Granger inspires you to take an interest in Ronald Weasley as well.  He is the second-youngest of seven children: Bill, who works at Gringotts, Charlie, who works with dragons, Percy, who works in the Ministry, Fred and George and Ron, who own a joke shop, and Ginny, a professional Quidditch player who marries Harry Potter, another professional Quidditch player.

After graduation, Hermione works for a while in the Ministry, where she sees to the improvement of the working conditions of House Elves.  When the Arithmancy Professor retires, Hermione, now satisfied that her work at the Ministry has achieved its objective, takes over the position, and upon your retirement, she takes over from you as Headmistress of Hogwarts.

Her parents are so proud of her that they boast about her exploits to whoever will listen to them.  Their stories spread too fast to be stopped by memory charms.  Eventually they reach a certain Muggle writer, who recounts them in a novel entitled "Albus Dumbledore and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry".  After many rejections, her novel is finally published.  With the proceeds from her novel, she is able to buy a new wardrobe.

If you are satisfied with this state of affairs, turn to Chapter 50.
