After all that sprinting and fighting, Alexa felt tired as they scanned through the roads of the kingdom, looking for old staff to rehire.

"Hey, Alexa," Carla said and repeated until Alexa looked at her "This is not your fault, Alex"

"I know! But it's partly my fault that they had to go on the cruise anyway! I stressed them out so much they had to go on a trip without me!" She shrieked

Carla didn't even flinch " I wouldn't mind if you went home and took a nap," 
"But I would never forgive myself if I was resting while you looked after my kingdom! That would make me a horrible queen!" She shouted, People were starting to stare at them, so she hid behind her long black and white hair and continued walking

"Alexa! I found Charlotte!" Logan shouted from somewhere forwards and continued talking to charlotte the maid, Charlotte and Logan approached her, Charlotte had long blonde hair and dark eyes and was 13, the same age as Logan, Charlotte had always been kind to her and she was also a bit shy.

"Hi, Charlotte!" Alexa said, too enthusiastically

"H-hey Alex," She said shakingly, Probably still nervous from being fired "Are you sure the king isn't still in there?"

"Im sure Charlotte! We made sure of it," Alexa said with a smile

"I-i guess i'l just- run to the castle" Charlotte said as she ran off towards the castle

A few hours later, they managed to rehire all of the old staff, except the people Alexa didn't quite like, For example, The number 17 caterer, Who was awfully smug for a rank that low. Alexa stuck her tongue at him as they walked away from the fuming caterer. They got back to the castle, a sweaty mess, Alexa threw off her dress and took a long hot and steamy bath and put on a new dress, then took it right off as she realised she didn't need to wear any dresses anymore because her parents always told her to wear the dresses, But now they were dead and she couldn't do anything about it. She put on a simple blouse and she wasn't ready to fully let go of the dresses so she wore a small skirt as well. She brushed her hair and spread gloss on her lips

"Awwww, your looking so adorable!" Carla exclaimed" Every boy in the kingdom is gonna fall for you if not already!" 

Alexa glanced at Logan, His cheeks were flushed, and his eyes were at his feet. Before Alexa could figure out what was going on, The main butler, Sir Lampton, walked in and bowed low.

"Your highness, I've come to you despite great peril-" Alexa cut him off

"Get to the point, please, Sir Lampton" She said politely, despite cutting him off

"Well, I suppose, In your parents will, It wrote, If you, My princess, Hasn't chosen a prince, T-there's going to be a choosing ceremony" He Stuttered

"What!" She shouted "Why! I'm only-" 

"13, Your majesty"

"What? I'm only 12"

"Your birthday, Your highness, A few days ago" Sir Lampton said

She'd completely forgotten about her birthday

"But that's still too young!" She said with a pout

She wasn't sure who looked more upset- Her or Logan, She wasn't sure why Logan looked sad though, Her life was getting changed, not his

"Fine, i'l be in my room- Getting ready" She said

She sprinted to her room "MAKE SURE TO WEAR A DRESS, YOUR MAJESTY" Sir Lampton said behind her

She got to her room and took off her current outfit, But then she heard a knock on the door, she put on a robe and went to get the door.

"Hey Alexa, I thought i'd help you change" Carla said 

"Okay" Alexa said simply, She wanted to look good, But not for the random boys she ought to meet today

She tried on a lot of dresses picked by Carla, All the colours of the rainbow, Long,short,fluffy,tight and even small skirts that she threw to the side immediately

Carla gasped

"What? Do i look bad?" Alexa said, A teeny bit hurt because this was the dress she actually liked on her

"No! It's....Beautiful. This is the one Alex" Carla said, breathlessly

Alexa smiled" Thank you" 
She walked out of her room with Carla behind her, The dress that they chose was the same grey bluish of her eyes with a black rim as her hair, there was a long white train behind and she also wore clear shoes with small heels to help her walk better with the train. Carla was holding the train, and Carla's little 4 year old sister even insisted on holding a small glitter basket and threw small handfuls like it was a wedding. The princes and boys from other kingdom's gaped as she walked in the party hall. Only a few minutes in, 6 boys already asked her to dance including Logan, She wasn't sure why but she accepted , They danced together with the princes watching with flaring jealousy in their eyes, About half an hour later, she and Logan were talking outside in the garden, looking at the sunset, When a prince she didn't know, Grabbed her and held her away from Logan.

"My princess will not be 'hanging out' with a commoner!" The Prince said "My princess, My name is Lucas, pleasure to meet you my lady" 

"First of all," She said, Twisting out of Lucas's arms "I'm not your princess or your lady, i am my own self" 

"Why, Ladies aren't their own self, Men do their dirty work and the ladies just cook and clean!" Lucas said in a regal matter

"Well, Women aren't objects, Things have changed since your father's time!" Alexa latched out

"I may be a prince and you are a princess but women still do the cleaning and cooking" 

"See your chances at getting me now" She said narrowing her eyes, she grabbed  Logan's arm and pulled him back inside the party room. She watched as Lucas looked at her with an open mouth, and the next moment he looked cranky and he kicked the wall, then he grabbed his foot, jumping in pain.

Alexa smirked after him. Meanwhile, She bumped into another prince with short blond hair and brown eyes

"Oh, Hello Princess Alexa, Pleasure to meet you! Is this your boyfriend? I thought you didn't have one! this is the point of this party after all." He talked like he had 10 cups of coffee this morning, Then the reality of what he said sunk in

"OH NO THIS ISN'T MY BOYFRIEND" She said loudly, the prince looked at her strange and waved it off

"My name is Elijah" 

 Alexa tripped over someone's foot "H-hello, E-elijah!" She said shakily, she was still regaining her balance. Logan looked a bit sad"Logan, are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine!" He said spacing back in, She gave him a strange look and said goodbye to the prince, a few hours later, the party ended
