Doing Your Homework (Astronomy Lesson 1)
Chapter 3
Okay, so I had time to write another chapter so I decided to! The first lesson of astronomy went over what astronomy is and the differences between muggle astronomy and our astronomy. You are going to want to know the difference because it is on your final exam! Also he went over what you are going to learn and grading.

The only piece of homework you have is an essay on your favorite constellation! The essay prompt is:
As an introductory essay, you’ll be writing about your favorite constellation. This essay needs to be NO LESS than 200 words long, and needs to be comprised of three paragraphs - detailed below. In addition, you need to include a picture of your constellation.
- Paragraph 1 needs to detail which constellation you've chosen, why you've chosen that constellation, and some information about the constellation.
- Paragraph 2 needs to retell the creation myth
for your constellation. Most constellations have a Greek or Roman
creation myth, you need to research this and tell the story in your own
words. You may use another culture’s myth if you find one; it is not
required to use only Greek or Roman. If you happen to choose a
constellation without a traditional creation myth, then please use this
paragraph to explain when it was discovered, who discovered it, how it
was named, etc. - Paragraph 3 is where you get creative! for your
constellation. You need to create an entirely new creation myth for your constellation. Your created myth needs to read like a short story. No
points will be deducted if you chose to take this section more than one
paragraph.
Your essay needs to be no less than 200 words long and 3 paragraphs. If you are having trouble with what you have to do, you can use this template:
~
Paragraph 1: Around 4-5 sentences
Sentence 1: your constellation
Sentence 2: Why it is your favorite (about 2-3 reasons)
Sentence 3-5: information about it ( like what shape it is, where in the sky it is, ect.)
Paragraph 2: Around 4-7 sentences
Sentence 1: What type of myth it is ( Greek, Roman, ect.)
Sentence 2-7: Explain and tell your constellations myth
Paragraph 3: Around 4-6 sentences
Sentence 1-6: your made up myth
~
That is a template you could use otherwise it is totally up to you. I know for the last paragraphs I wasn't too specific because it depends what constellation you chose.
Hopefully that helps you even though this isn't too detailed of a chapter. Also if your having trouble thinking up your own myth than piggyback off the original myth. The next chapter is about herbology lesson one and should come out today! A little note I want to add is to check out my other book, Quidditch course!
