I was in my room, supposedly getting ready for dinner with the Malfoys. The truth? I was just hiding. I hate formal events, the frilly dresses, all the makeup, the fuss over how to do your hair? I despise it, do a braid and be done with it! But when your a pure blood you have no choice, especially when your a rich pure blood. Every month my Dad invites the Malfoys over and I have to put up with Draco boasting about himself and how Potter is nothing. I don't believe a word that boy says. Even though I've been trying to get Harry to notice me since first year. -knock knock- "Kate? Are you ready?" I hurried to find a dress. "Ow." I whispered when I hit my head on the door frame. "Almost.." I grabbed a random dress and  started to braid my hair, just to look like I tried. -creak- my dad opened the door. "Here let me help." He grabbed where I had left off and finished the braid. "There, you look just like your mother." I shrugged. "Thanks." Today was my birthday and the day my mother died. -ding dong- the Malfoys were here.
