The regulation potion

Chapter 2

The regulation potion make a potion take effect at a certain time with different ingredients and will be very useful in the future


Four notes:
1. flobberworm mucus is optional but recommended
2. be very careful when handling cobra venom
3. mixture should be a dull greenish-brown
4. wear hand protection while doing this step


Estimated Brewing Time:
Pewter cauldron: 15 hours, 28 minutes and 12.1 seconds to 15 hours, 43 minutes and 2 seconds
Brass cauldron: 13 hours, 50 minutes and 2.2 seconds to 14 hours, 3 minutes and 69.9 seconds
Copper cauldron: 11 hours, 20 minutes and 24 seconds to 10 hours, 58 minutes and 53 seconds


Ingredients:
3 L of water
5 lace wing flies
3 mL of flobberworm mucus1
3 dragon scales
1 teaspoon of liquid gold
3 mandrake roots
1 white whisker of a black cat (any other cat will not work for this potion)
3 pumkin seeds
4 hippogryph feathers
3 mL of cobra venom2
3 eucalyptus leaves


Instructions:


1. Add three L of water to your cauldron and heat up to 342 Kelvin (68.85°C/155.93°F)

2. Add three mL of flobberworm mucus to the cauldron

3. Crush three mandrake roots and three pumpkin seeds into a fine powder

4. Mix both powders and add the mixture into the cauldron

5. Turn the heat up to 568 Kelvin (294.85°C/562.73°F) for five minutes and reduce heat to 372 Kelvin (98.85°C/209.93°F)

6. Add one teaspoon of liquid gold to the cauldron

Your potion should look dark purple with the subtle smell of lilac

Side Mixture;

1. Cut three eucalyptus leaves into small even slices

2. Put slices into the cup of cobra venom this should dissolve them3

3. Coat four hippogryph feathers in the eucalyptus/venom mixture4

Instructions 2:

1. Add the four coated hippogryph feathers and three dragon scales into the cauldron

2. Crush lace wing flies into a chunky powder and add it to the cauldron

3. Take the cauldron off the heat source and wait 10 minutes for it to cool

4. Add the white whisker to the cauldron and let it brew for the time above 

The potion should now be a shimmering yellow with the strong smell of honey
