Tess Falcon; First Year At Hogwarts {Finished Book}
Nonoahohay Falcon was not a normal person. Normal people aren't born with a wizard for a dad and a mermaid for a mum, witches that get invited to a magical school, get a wand at a wizarding shop, have a godmother that can change her looks at will, can't talk to snakes or are related to the greatest known Dark wizard of all time. Nonoahohay (or Tess) has no idea of the challenges and hardships she will face as she goes through her first year at Hogwarts.

Chapter 8
I woke up early in the morning by a scream. I quickly got dressed, thinking about my dream. Then I went over to the bed the scream came from, the bed Abigail was sleeping at. She said, "Sorry. I had a dream that I was awarded 2,000,000 galleons. I screamed in delight." Everyone else in the room was stirring. Abigail said, "Go back to sleep. It's all OK." They didn't though. A girl sat up and said, "Let's get to know each other, since we're all awake and we'll be together for a long time!"
We all gathered in a circle on the floor. There was a bottle in the middle, and it spun around by itself, pointing to Quinn. "Oh! I'm Sarah Reed. I'm a half-blood, I like the color red, and I fear hippos." We laughed. We're supposed to say our name, if we're a pureblood, half-blood, or a muggle-born, our favorite color, and what we fear. Next it was me. "Um, I'm Nonoahohay Falcon. Call me Tess. I hate my name. It's way too long." Everyone laughed. "I am a pureblood, but I'm adopted by muggles and was raised as one. I LOVE Green! I also claustrophobic, so I fear small spaces."
The next person was the girl that suggested the whole thing. She had brown hair and eyes. "Um, I um... My name is Hannah Spices. I am a half-blood, I like the color pink, and I fear babies. I know! Babies! I just freak out a bit around them." The other girl I didn't know had a turn next. "I'm Rebecca Mosessah. I'm not sure what I am, for my parents disappeared. No one even knew who they were. They turned up the n-next year in the middle of a f-forest, d-dead. I was hiding under m-mum, not even 2 weeks o-old yet. I w-was adopted by a rich pureblood family. I have 18 other siblings! 6 of them are adopted. I like the color orange, and I fear small dogs."
Abagail was last. "I am Abigail Wright. I am a pureblood, and half veela, too! My favorite color is white. I fear haircuts. I love my hair!" She flipped her hair. We then got up and dressed. I took a shower.
We all went down to breakfast together. I would have gotten lost without them. When we got to the Great Hall (late, because we did get lost once), tons of owls came along and circled the tables, searching for their recipients. One beautiful barn owl dropped a letter on my head. I pocketed it, thinking I'll read it later. Everyone heard a voice ring through the hall, and we turned to the redhead. He held an envelope that was yelling at him, and at the end, congratulated Ginny for being in Gryffindor. she blushed, and then the envelope turned into smoke. Everyone slowly resumed their conversations, some sniggering. After we ate, we trodded to our first class. There were SO many classes!
Charms was fun, because Professor Flitwick, the small man that brought in the Sorting hat and taught Charms kept on toppling over. Hufflepuffs and Slytherins were together, so I was with Dracine. Also, in Charms he had to stand on a pile of books to see while he taught us; he spoke in a very high voice. I couldn't help but laugh when Ginny accidentally hit him in the head with a book that she somehow got to fly off the shelves. But she got another warning that next time she'll get detention.
History of Magic was boring, for the teacher was a ghost (the only teacher that was one), and we were with Ravenclaws. They were way too serious and smart for my taste. So whenever there was a question asked, they always raised their hands as high as possible and answered in paragraphs. When I told them a joke, they stared at me, then realized it was a joke, and forced a small, obviously fake laugh. I knew I'll never like that class.
Transfiguration was hard, because Professor McGonagall, the teacher, kept pressuring us BIG TIME! We were with the Gryffindors, so I got to see Ginny, but when I tried to talk to her, Professor McGonagall told me to watch my step or I'll get detention. So I just kept my head down and wrote stuff that the Professor was saying down, occasionally passing Ginny a note. It was not very fun at all. I now know from that first lesson that magic is very complicated.
Potions was easy (that's why I was good with making the potions at home), and the teacher, Professor Snape, said my father was better than the best at potions, and that they were good friends. I kept on blushing, and he came over to my cauldron a lot and complimenting me. We were with Slytherin, too, but I really enjoyed it all the same. Ginny told me she thought Potions was a load of rubbish, but she also told me that her couldron exploded and she got detention. I knew she just hated it because of all of the embarrassment.
Defense Against the Dark Arts was simple, because the stuff wasn't easy, but I understood it really well, but Ravenclaws were with us, sadly. When we had to partner up, I got to go with a Ravenclaw, who made the simple stuff seem so hard. I also found Cornish Pixie poop in my desk. The room was also ultimately destroyed. I wondered how crazy second years were, because they were the class before us, and I did see some Cornish Pixies in a cage on the Professor's desk.
Herbology was exciting, because Hufflepuffs are always best at Herbology (we have plants in our common room all over the place). I loved it, and it's my favorite class. It was so fun, and I did everything perfectly! We were with Gryffindors on that one, too. I love Herbology!
Astronomy was interesting. All of the planets and stars are so fascinating! We had Ravenclaws on that one. We did those classes all week. I was always exhausted from all of the late nights I had to have for homework!
Ginny told me the password for the Gryffindor Common Room, so now the Fat Lady thinks I'm a Griffindor. We go up to the dormitory, and we do homework together and have lots of fun. Finally it was the first Saturday.
