Tess Falcon; First Year At Hogwarts {Finished Book}

written by Faye Chuchoter

Nonoahohay Falcon was not a normal person. Normal people aren't born with a wizard for a dad and a mermaid for a mum, witches that get invited to a magical school, get a wand at a wizarding shop, have a godmother that can change her looks at will, can't talk to snakes or are related to the greatest known Dark wizard of all time. Nonoahohay (or Tess) has no idea of the challenges and hardships she will face as she goes through her first year at Hogwarts.

The First Quidditch Match

Chapter 14

I
ran down to the Quidditch Match, and waited right outside the entrance
to the stadium.  Ginny ran along, slipped on the muddy grass, and fell
on top of me.  I started to laugh, and she did, too.  Soon we were both
laughing and rolling around on the grass like lunatics.  Finally, we got
up and entered the Quidditch stadium.

We
found the highest seat, and then it started to rain.  It rained more
and more, as the stadium's seats grew fuller and fuller.  Thunder was
loud in my ears as a storm moved in.  Soon it was raining so hard, I
could barely see!  Then I saw the Slytherin team come in, and I cheered,
although Ginny didn't.  I heard a lot of boos coming from all of the
other houses, and I could barely make out Draco Malfoy's nervous face,
and I thought, "What's he doing on the team?  No, wait!  Now I remember;
he's their Seeker!"

I
cheered even more, and then the Gryffindor team came along.  I could
see Ginny's twin brothers next to Harry Potter.  I cheered, but no one
cheered louder than Ginny.  She finally stopped, but only because her
voice was getting hoarse and I had covered her mouth and held her hands
in place.  I saw the Captains of each team shake hands, and I could
barely hear Madam Hooch yell, "MOUNT YOUR BROOMS ON THE COUNT OF THREE!
ONE, TWO, THREE!"  She blew her whistle.  The teams magically rose into
the air and I gasped.  I couldn't believe that they were actually flying!

After I saw them flying, I couldn't see a thing
and I could barely hear what someone was shouting.  "Slytherin lead!!!
Thirty points to zero!"  Ginny and almost everyone around me booed.  I
felt something whiz past me and heard Fred and George yell.  Ginny said,
"I think that was a bludger!  You know, the ball that whizzes around,
trying to knock people off their brooms!"  She squinted up ahead.  "I
don't get why it's just trying to hit Harry, though!  They aren't
supposed to aim on one person!"

Madam
Hooch blew her whistle and I could make out people below landing and
talking together.  The Slytherin team flew around, showing off their
super fast brooms.  Draco kept on glancing at me and flattening his
hair.  Finally, the game started again.  Harry looked strange, twisting
and turning in the air, with the bludger chasing after him.  Then Harry suddenly stopped and the bludger hit his arm.  Everyone around me groaned.  Then Harry sped towards Draco.  Draco sped away, and Harry grabbed something from the air.  Ginny yelled at me, "THE GOLDEN SNITCH!  WHOEVER CATCHES THAT, AS LONG AS THEY'RE THE SEEKER, THEN THE TEAM GETS AWARDED 150 POINTS AND THE GAME'S OVER!  GRYFFINDOR'S WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  I covered my ears, but I saw Harry fall off his broom and hit the mud.  Then I thought I saw him faint.

Half of an hour later, Harry awoke and looked at Professor Lockhart,
saying, "Oh, no.  Not you!"  I ran over to George, who was wrestling the
bludger, who was still trying to get to Harry.  I asked, "Do you need
any help?"  George looked up at me, and the bludger escaped his grasp.
WHAM!  It hit me fully in the face.  I fell backwards and saw George
yell to a teacher.  I made out people start to crowd around me.  Draco
pushed his way to the front.  "Ohhh, that looks gruesome."  "Is she
OK?"  "I think her cheek and jaw is ripped open."  "Get someone!"
"Hey!  Did you see Harry's arm? The bones in it are gone because of- oh,
my.  What happened?"

Then I blacked out.
