Tess Falcon; First Year At Hogwarts {Finished Book}
Nonoahohay Falcon was not a normal person. Normal people aren't born with a wizard for a dad and a mermaid for a mum, witches that get invited to a magical school, get a wand at a wizarding shop, have a godmother that can change her looks at will, can't talk to snakes or are related to the greatest known Dark wizard of all time. Nonoahohay (or Tess) has no idea of the challenges and hardships she will face as she goes through her first year at Hogwarts.

The Beginning
Chapter 1
"Nonoahohay Tamerana Falcon!" was what I woke up hearing. I ran down the stairs, my hair flowing behind me. What I pride the most about my appearance is my hair, which is long (so long I can sit on it), thin, and beautiful reddish-brown. As I entered the kitchen, I saw my dad standing there, his face all red and blotchy. "I thought I told you to clean up this mess!" He gestured angrily at the counter top.
Oops. "I forgot!" I said. The "mess" on the counter was my potions. I had been creating one of my made-up potions that actually worked! The one on the counter was a hair-growing potion, not that I needed it. I had also created a make-you-smarter potion, a nail-growing potion, a growing potion, and a shrinking potion, which were all in my secret place in the closet.
I quickly picked the small bottle up, and all of the plant parts and other ingredients I found or bought. While I did that, my dad was just standing there sputtering. My mum entered the room, and asked calmly, "What's going on? Oh. Not those again, David." She added, seeing the potion stuff in my arms. My dad said, "Amelia, you know how I hate those things messing up our nice kitchen." I silently left the room without either of them noticing.
My dad is normally very chill and awesome, but when Granny's over... I shivered. She likes to try and help around the house all the time, and makes things look all old-style and crazy, like when she made my hair into a bushy glob on my head. My dad is always very tense and gets angry at the smallest things whenever she's around, because he doesn't want her to move in, and make the crazy permanent, like she almost did last time, she thought we needed so much help.
I started to go up the stairs, until I heard the doorbell ring. I answered it, and there was my teacher, Mrs. Hubirta, at the door. I felt very aware that I was still wearing my white nightgown with ruffles near the bottom and a green bow on top, with my potion stuff in my arms. I wished that I accepted the offer my mom gave me last night to braid my hair, but it was now all knotty and messy. I let Mrs. Hubirta in, and noticed that she looked around, amazed. That didn't help that she was pretty poor, and here she was, in my big mansion.
My mum came and, seeing Mrs. Hubirta at the door, said, "Oh, good, you're here. Please come in my office to talk." And with that, they both went down the hall. I knew not to follow them. I was never allowed in my mum's office, unless we were talking privately.
I ran up the stairs to the next story and went to my room, shutting the door behind me. Quickly, I got dressed into my favorite outfit, a pink shirt with tiny flowers on it, a green knit sweater with rainbow puff balls attached to the top, a lavender skirt, and plain brown flats. My mum said it brought out the color of my eyes, which were green. I grabbed the potion ingredients and went to the closet.
Randomly, I said, "Open Sesame." My wall across from me disappeared, and I stepped into the cupboard. I had never quite figured out how all of that happened. The cupboard looked kind-of like Ariel's secret cave in The Little Mermaid, except smaller. I put the finished potion with the others, and looking around, saw my strange plants I found when I was 4, my chocolate bar that always kept reappearing when you finished that I made when I was 3, the biting book that I found in a pet shop when I was 6, the chart of stars and planets I got for my 5 birthday, and my pet pixie I found just last week!
I got the potion filled with stuff the pixie likes, and fed it to her. No one knew about my amazing findings except for me. I also saw a mermaid at the beach when I was two, but she became my friend, so I didn't bring her home with me. I left my secret place, and went over to my bed, thinking about the good dream I had this morning. Then an owl flew in my room through the window and dropped a letter on my bed.
