Hermione couldn't believe what she was seeing, it was Draco Lucious Malfoy!! He was inside her compartment with her friends!! They were even talking to each other without hurting one another too!! Hermione wanted an an answer and she wanted it now!!! Hermione stormed in nearly breaking the compartment door.

"What are you doing here?!"

"Calm down Mione,"Neville said defending Draco, "he's apologizing."

"What, really!"

She looked at Draco confused but he only stared at the ground to asshamed to face her.

Ginny spoke up,"It's true Mione, just hear him out ok."

"Yes and you should take a seat," Luna spoke with a calm gentle voice.(As usual)

"Fine, but if he even so much as annoys me he's out, got it."

"I guess that is fair," Draco finally spoke," so here goes nothing."

Was it her imagination or was there a hint of emmbarassment in his voice.

"I am sorry. I'm sorry I tormented you and called you names. I regret being a brat and a tremendous pain in the butt." Don't forget a arsehole Hermione mumured under breath but Draco heard her. "And a arsehole." He looked right at her when he said it. Hermione could feel his stare even as she looked away.`"Most of all I'm sorry for all the grief I've caused you all. I know you can never forgive me for what I've done but I wanted all of you to know I'm a changad man. All those things I did because I had no choice, I was threathened and forced. But I am free to make my own choicrs now so I'm choosing a different path. I've said my piece now all I can do is hope you can forgive me." And with that Draco left. They all sat there astonished and amazed wondering whether his confession was genuine or a prank.

"That was terrible," Draco thought to himself. He had practiced his apology to them specifically and it all had gone to waste. The second Hermione barged in he forgot every word he had memorized and his mind went blank. Hermione didn't know it but Draco was asshamed of what he had done and he knew that Hermione was the person he tormented the most meaning she would be the most reluctant and skeptical person to show forgiveness. By the time Draco had reached his compartment several people he didn't trust anymore were in it. He saw Vincent Crabbe, Blaise Zabini, and most regretable Pansy Parkinson.

"What in bloody hell are you three doing in my compartment?!"

Zabini answereed with a smirk on his face," What's wrong Malfoy aren't you happy to see your friends?"

"You aren't my friends so leave. You know what it's fine it's all most time for me to head to McGonagall's compartment anyway."

"Aww did poor Draco get in trouble again?? Don't tell, there is no way, did you actually get Head Boy?? There is no way McGonagall is so dumb she would chose you now would she."

What Blaise said made Draco's blood boil and he wouldn't take it anymore, he had had enough. Draco pinned Blaise against the wall.

"What's that suppose to mean, huh?"

"Draco that's enough, let him go,"said Crabbe butting in.

"Your right he's not worth my time."

" Oh please, your time, your the one wasting mine."

Draco ignored Blaise's last comment and stormed off towards McGonagall's office. Before he could go inside Pansy appeared in front of him.

"Out of my way Pansy I don't have time for this."

Pansy made a pouty pug face." Draco why are you being so rude to your girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend, no force on earth could...."

"Excuse me, but good you move," Hermione stop him mid sentence," I hate to interupt but I need to get inside there." She pointed to McGonagall's compartment door.

Draco was mortified, not only had he make a fool of himself with that lame apology he was also seen arguing with Pansy of all people about her being his girlfriend. He had been seen by Hermione Granger no the less and she was one of many people he was asking forgiveness from! What would she think seeing her with the laikes of Pansy, one of the most hated bullies in school!

"Hello, did you two hear me? I need to get through."

"Sorry Hermione we'll just move." Draco stepped aside and let Hermione through. After she went inside he continued his conversation with Pansy. 

"As I was saying, no force on earth could make me your boyfriend."

"Draco Malfoy you'll regret saying that." And with that Pansy left with revenge in mind.

Draco sighed and enter the compartment. When he enter the room he found Hermione staring out the window. He smirked at Hermione thinking of how pretty she looked in that moment.

"So your Head Girl."

"Yeah your....." Hermione turned just as Draco ran is hand through his hair. She turned back to the quickly then finished her sentence. "......Head Boy Malfoy."

"Yeah I am. So Granger, you ok, you turned away pretty quick."

"Yeah Malfoy I'm perfectly fine." She didn't want Draco to see her red face, in fact Hermione didn't even know why her face was red. Draco's appeared right of her face so suddenly Hermione jumped back in her seat.

"Sorry Hermione I didn't mean to scare you."

"Don't. Ever. Do. That. AGAIN! You scared me to death!!" Hermione's hand was over her heart like she was about to have a heart attack. Hermione took a couple of deep breaths then changed tha subject.

"Draco have you seen McGonagall she isn't here."

"No, sorry Granger."

Juat as they said that McGonagall entered the compartment. "I am right here Mr. Malfoy, Miss Granger. I had an ergent matter to attend to so thenk you for your patience. Shall we begin then?"

Hermione responded first, "Of course Headmistress."

"Yeah let's get to it."

"First off you both will be sharing a common room in the the east wing. The room is newly built and I hope it it is to both of your liking. You will also be assisting Hagrid with the first years on the boat ride. That is all for now so you may spend the rest of the journey in your compartments. I hope you both set a good example for the younger students and take your responsibilities seriously. I will show you to your common room after the feast so off you both go."

"Thank you Headmistress." After speaking Draco got up and left.

Hermione said good - bye to McGonagall then chased after Draco.

"Draco wait up." Draco stopped dead in his tracks and turned to Hermione who was chasing after him.

"What is it Hermione?"

"I just want us to settle things between the two of us since we'll be seeing each other a whole lot."

"So Hermione all you have to do is forgive me and we'll make a truce, since I already apologized."

"Ok Draco I forgive you for years of torment and for calling me mudblood. But can you forgive me for punching youz?"

"Of course Hermione I deserved it and since when are we on a first name basis?"

"We might as well be since we'll be living together for the rest of the school year. So that's it were good, no more harsh names, no more punching each other, no more hexing each by accident, it's all just over like that?"

"I guess it is and when did you hex me?"

"Never that was Ron. I have to go now see you later."And just like that Hermione was gone leaving Draco contemplating the recent events. He had finally made up with Hermione and it felt freeing. As soon as Draco entered the compartment he regreted it. Draco's three former "friends" were still there and had seen his whole conversation with Hermione. Instead of actually listening to the Draco sat down and read one of his textbooks. When they finally reached Hogwarts Draco and Hermione calmly walked to Hagrid in utter silence. They had no idea what was in store for them this year.
