Vortex is furious with Thunder. Why can't he just understand that she was right? Why does he keep defending other hens? He just keeps ruining everything. Thunder is confused. Why is Texy so angry with everything? Why can't they just be friends again? And why is she so rude? The two birds grow together and apart as their lifeboat of two starts tipping with new arrivals try to get in and they will all have to find a way to live together and reconnect.

Chapter 5
Dear Diary,
I HATE Bella! Thunder, Moonbeam, and I were just hanging out when Bella opened her fat beak and said “Looks like you got another hen there Thunder.” So then I asked her what she meant and she said something about that he already had me as a mate and now he had Moonbeam, but before she could finish, I got my feathers in a fluffle and screamed at her to shut up, and got pecked for it (I still feel it on my comb). I was super worked up today and hardly heard anything but my own thoughts. I’m now daydreaming about personally ending Bella, but she’s the Boss Lady, and I’m just a Drudge, so that’s a no.

Today Vortex was nicer to Moony, at least, until Bella said what she said and Vortex exploded. Then she dominated the rest of the day with her furious monologue about how unfair this all was. What’s really unfair is that we had to listen to that all day. UGH. I’m thinking of not being friends with her. Moony agrees with me. I told her Vortex wasn’t really that bad but she rolled her eyes at me. I don’t think Moony really likes her.
