5. Holes by Louis Sachar-
Plot Description: Stanley Yelnats is under a curse. A curse that began with his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather and has since followed generations of Yelnats. Now Stanley has been unjustly sent to a boys’ detention center, Camp Green Lake, where the boys build character by spending all day, every day digging holes exactly five feet wide and five feet deep. There is no lake at Camp Green Lake. But there are an awful lot of holes.

It doesn’t take long for Stanley to realize there’s more than character improvement going on at Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holes because the warden is looking for something. Spoiler Free Review: This is a book I read at school with my class and I probably wouldn’t have picked it otherwise. However, I really enjoyed it. It’s got a storyline with great characters! 100% recommend.

4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs-

Spoiler Free Review: I love, love, love everything about this book. From the creepy photographs to compelling storyline this story will definitely keep you reading into the night. I particularly liked the format of this book with all the pictures which kept me interested and intrigued.

3. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare-

Spoiler Free Review: This book is so good! It’s addicting and got a great universe. The magic and everything in this book is so well thought out and interesting. This book has got a bit of everything. It's got romance, adventure, mystery and fantasy all in one!

2. Divergent by Veronica Roth-

Spoiler Free Review: I love dystopian YA so this was right up my alley. The plot was so intriguing and the characters were easy to get attached to. As the series goes on it does get worse but the books are still worth reading. I cried reading the last book and so did my mum! Definitely recommend.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins-

Plot Description: In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before―and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
Spoiler Free Review: The Hunger Games is tied with Harry Potter for my favourite book series ever! It kept me up reading for hours and I couldn’t put it down! 100,000% recommend!
